Doctor:Good afternoon
User:Hi Doctor
User:very good afternoon
Doctor:Please proceed with your query
User:I had a missed abortion early this year and since then we have been trying for a baby
User:out of the 7 months we could keep relation only for 3 months but that did not work out
Doctor:I am sorry to hear this
User:i am undergoing follical study currently and today is day 9, with egg size 11*9, endometrum III and thickness 4/5
Doctor:The egg still needs to mature or increase in size
User:yes, but do you think it will grow in size by day 14/15
User:my normal ovulation is day 14
Doctor:Yes, definitely, it will further grow in size
Doctor:by day 14
User:when i compare my last follical study results it shows day 9 size as 16*17 and hence i was litte worried
Doctor:Nothing to worry, the size of the egg will vary with every cycle
Doctor:It will grow to its maximum size this cycle also
Doctor:May I know your age?
User:the other thing I wanted to know is will it help if we collect my husband's semen and get it inserted into vagina medically
User:i am 36
User:this is my first preganncy
Doctor:Yes, that will help too... it is called IUI
User:this is what my doctor suggested
Doctor:IntraUterine Insemination of the semen
Doctor:Is there a difficulty in having intercourse?
User:she said not a proper IUI but just insert it into vagina. I believe IUI is a bit differnt process
Doctor:IUI is the actual procedure
Doctor:If your doctor says about something similar, I doubt the effectiveness of such procedure
User:at times yes, the success rate is no very high, for strange reason, it seems to be stress all the time and also becuase we have small window of 2/3 days during ovulation time
User:i do not know the name of the process though
User:she has asked me to see her again when the egg size grows to 18 and then she will take a call
Doctor:I understand the stress associated with these
Doctor:I empathize with you
User:what could be the reason for not conceiving this time. i have done all possible test including Karotype and they all are normal
Doctor:But, it is not that difficult too
Doctor:Is this AAAA?
Doctor:AAAA, most of the times the reason for infertility is the simplest of reasons
Doctor:I agree you have done karyotyping, that is good
Doctor:But, most couples who report to doctors with infertility are treated this way
User:so is this the right way to go
Doctor:Studies show that >60% of patients in infertility clinic conceive within end of one year by regular intercourse and counselling
Doctor:I mean to say, the problem is not big or difficult
Doctor:Are you on any medications?
Doctor:You can try IUI, there is no harm in it
User:just folviteMB and Progyonova for this follicaulstudy cycle
User:my prolcation was high but now it is down to 15
Doctor:Do you have any real difficulty in having intercourse?
Doctor:Sorry to ask you few personal questions
Doctor:What is the age of your husband?
User:not a problem
Doctor:Are you there?
User:i mean we are not very active. at times we just can;t have intercourse, i guess it is more to do with mind than anything else
User:and at times its easy there is no problem having intercourse
Doctor:Right, it is possible
Doctor:I think in your case, IUI will help
Doctor:Please go ahead and opt for it
User:in last 7 months we tried all time but 4 times we could not keep relation for no reason, it just did not work out and we missed that month
User:i will
Doctor:I understand
User:but what if we can keep relation this month, do you think we should still opt for IUI
Doctor:It is very simple
Doctor:If you are able to have the intercourse right way, if there is good penetration from your husband's side,
Doctor:It is always better to stick to the natural process that going for IUI
Doctor:My suggestion to you is try the natural way sincerely for 2 to 3 months
User:yes i agree and hence we were not opting for IUI
Doctor:If not, then go ahead with IU
Doctor:Please make decisions faster as you are 36 now
Doctor:You should not wait more than a year to conceive
Doctor:Work towards it
User:i agree
Doctor:It is the mutual co-operation and understanding that is required
User:last month too i thought i would conceive as i was getting those cramps, backache and left side pelvic pain
User:but did not
Doctor:I have seen in my practice that most of the times infertility arises because either of the partner is not interested to have a baby
User:yes i understand
Doctor:Speak frankly and openly with your husband
Doctor:This is important too
Doctor:I hope I am not intruding your privacy
Doctor:But it helps when couples are open
User:well, in my case that is not a problem. we both are eager to have a baby
User:not at all
Doctor:Then, this is the right time to start
Doctor:Find out your actual ovulation days
User:my husband is very understanding so no worry from that side
Doctor:Have intercourse without fail on those days
Doctor:Happy to hear that
User:i got married at 34 and after six months of marriage we started planning
User:i conceived last dec but within one month i had missed abortion
Doctor:Was the pregnancy confirmed by an ultrasound scan?
User:yes, in two differnt clinics
Doctor:I am sorry about that
Doctor:Since you have conceived before, it should not be a problem to conceive again
Doctor:Try it again
Doctor:Are you with me?
User:i will
Doctor:All the best to you
Doctor:Wish to hear from you soon
User:thank you so much for your guidnace
User:yes sure
Doctor:Pleasure is mine
Doctor:Hope you have followed my suggestions
Doctor:Do you have more queries to discuss on now?
User:none for now
Doctor:Wish you good luck
Doctor:bye for now
Doctor:Take care
