Ultrasound showed no cardiac activity but fetal pole present. Is the sign of miscarriage? - Online Doctor Chats
my self XXXXXXX
welcome to XXXXXXX please proceed with your query
she had her last period on 8th november, is this a sign of misscarriage?
my wife 's usg shows no heart beat but fetal pole present
so it is about 10 - 11 weeks pregnant
was this the first ultrasound, done to check for the fetal condition ?
no she didn't have
any pain or bleeding
In that case, there is no need to worry at the present time
it is common , for some times, that the ultrasound, not detected
but, in such cases, a repeat ultrasound, needs to be done, after 1 week , so that the fetal position can change
and then , the fetal scan can detect the heart beat
but here i consult adoctor but he says after one week have another usg if no cariac activity found , then aborsation
a medical termination is done, only if the heart beat is not seen at 12 weeks
due to cyst treatment she has irregular period flactuating between 28 to32 day every month
now the crl measures .69 cm is it normal?
that is variable, and it is not a indicator of fetal well being
the important factors , is presence or absence of the fetal pole and the detection of heart beating
if the heart beat, is not seen, it means the fetus is not viable
treatment of ovarian cysts, before pregnancy, does not mean that , it can affect the pregnancy now
The presence of an embryonic heartbeat is an assuring sign of the health of the pregnancy.
now it is 10th week but in usg report it shows 6week &4day how ?
since the CRL is more than 5 mm in your case, it is possible that the embryo to be healthy, inspite of not showing a heart beat
there will always be a differance that way , this is due to the fact that, pregnancy in weeks is calculated from the last period date
and gestational age, is calculated from the date of fertilisation, and there will be a gap of 14 days, between the two
and there is always a calculation of + or - 1 week in Ultrasound findings
so is their any hope for heart beat will come in next week or two?
is their any medication/
there are no medications, for such issues
since in your case, the fetal pole is present, and the CRL is more than 5 mm, there is a chance for the pregnancy to be viable
after 1 week , if the ultrasound does not detect the heat beat, then it will be considered as non viable , and either a medical abortion can be done
now the doctor prescribed me injection REMENS &provigil is it help ful ?
is it for your wife , u mean ?
YES, THEY ARE HELPFUL
those are HCG injections , which help in improving the pregnancy outcomes, but they need to be given in the initial stages of pregnancy to have proper effect
last usg is carried on 23rd january ,so when i have to go for next?
you can go for the same after 1 week
that is by 29th or 30th
i am very help less before it because here doctors said no hope! but consolting you i am no very much stressless as this is our first iissue
but this is a very common issue , and many couples can concieve soon
and then, have a sucessful pregnancy
or was it less severe ?
only some haedache, but no vomiting
in case, it was less severe, it means that the HCG levels were less
as it is in such cases, that HCG injections are effective
the next time you can consult your doctor, who can start HCG injections , after 1 month of conception
this might help to give beeter outcomes
I hope you have followed my suggestions
