User:hello sir
User:my self XXXXXXX
Doctor:welcome to XXXXXXX please proceed with your query
User:she had her last period on 8th november, is this a sign of misscarriage?
User:my wife is pregnent &her usg report says no cardiac activity but fetal pole present.
User:my wife 's usg shows no heart beat but fetal pole present
Doctor:so it is about 10 - 11 weeks pregnant
Doctor:was this the first ultrasound, done to check for the fetal condition ?
Doctor:does she have any pain, bleeding, or fever , etc ?
User:she was also treated for a cyst in her left ovary of size4.1*2.6
User:no she didn't have
User:any pain or bleeding
Doctor:In that case, there is no need to worry at the present time
Doctor:it is common , for some times, that the ultrasound, not detected
Doctor:but, in such cases, a repeat ultrasound, needs to be done, after 1 week , so that the fetal position can change
Doctor:and then , the fetal scan can detect the heart beat
User:but here i consult adoctor but he says after one week have another usg if no cariac activity found , then aborsation
Doctor:a medical termination is done, only if the heart beat is not seen at 12 weeks
User:due to cyst treatment she has irregular period flactuating between 28 to32 day every month
Doctor:normally, the heart beat appears only after the sixth or seventh week of pregnancy,
User:now the crl measures .69 cm is it normal?
Doctor:that is variable, and it is not a indicator of fetal well being
Doctor:the important factors , is presence or absence of the fetal pole and the detection of heart beating
Doctor:if the heart beat, is not seen, it means the fetus is not viable
Doctor:treatment of ovarian cysts, before pregnancy, does not mean that , it can affect the pregnancy now
Doctor:The presence of an embryonic heartbeat is an assuring sign of the health of the pregnancy.
User:now it is 10th week but in usg report it shows 6week &4day how ?
Doctor:since the CRL is more than 5 mm in your case, it is possible that the embryo to be healthy, inspite of not showing a heart beat
Doctor:there will always be a differance that way , this is due to the fact that, pregnancy in weeks is calculated from the last period date
Doctor:and gestational age, is calculated from the date of fertilisation, and there will be a gap of 14 days, between the two
Doctor:and there is always a calculation of + or - 1 week in Ultrasound findings
User:so is their any hope for heart beat will come in next week or two?
User:is their any medication/
Doctor:The guideline is that if the gestational sac measures >16-18mm with no fetal pole or the fetal pole measures 5mm with no heartbeat (by vaginal ultrasound), then a diagnosis of miscarriage or blighted ovum is made.
Doctor:there are no medications, for such issues
Doctor:since in your case, the fetal pole is present, and the CRL is more than 5 mm, there is a chance for the pregnancy to be viable
Doctor:after 1 week , if the ultrasound does not detect the heat beat, then it will be considered as non viable , and either a medical abortion can be done
User:now the doctor prescribed me injection REMENS &provigil is it help ful ?
Doctor:is it for your wife , u mean ?
Doctor:those are HCG injections , which help in improving the pregnancy outcomes, but they need to be given in the initial stages of pregnancy to have proper effect
User:last usg is carried on 23rd january ,so when i have to go for next?
Doctor:you can go for the same after 1 week
Doctor:that is by 29th or 30th
User:i am very help less before it because here doctors said no hope! but consolting you i am no very much stressless as this is our first iissue
Doctor:i understand
User:tnx, sir
Doctor:but this is a very common issue , and many couples can concieve soon
Doctor:and then, have a sucessful pregnancy
Doctor:Can u tell me if your wife had severe morning sickness during the first 2 months ?
Doctor:or was it less severe ?
User:only some haedache, but no vomiting
Doctor:in case, it was less severe, it means that the HCG levels were less
Doctor:as it is in such cases, that HCG injections are effective
Doctor:the next time you can consult your doctor, who can start HCG injections , after 1 month of conception
Doctor:this might help to give beeter outcomes
Doctor:I hope you have followed my suggestions
