Troubled sleep, heartbeat feels strange, increased stress. Recommended physical exercise. Will it work? - Online Doctor Chats
I've been having trouble sleeping over the past few days..
I feel some tension in my heart though there's nothing that I'm really worrying about..
May i know your age ?
and how many days have u had this problem ?
I will complete 26 in another 2 months
Just the past 7-10 days
any specific changes in your lifestyle ?
I recently got married..2.5 months back..
So, a few changes in my food habits..
from hotel food to home food etc..
any work related stress , etc ?
My travel time to office has increased..Travelling about 45 minutes by bike..
you mean, this has changed since the last 10 days ?
Not since the last 10 days..But in the last month..
what time to u sleep and when do u wake up ?
how many times do u wake up at night ?
(in between sleep ) ?
I sleep at 12 in the night and get up at 7..
Once i get to sleep i don't wake up easily..
But having some trouble actually getting to sleep..
has this pattern, stayed all the time ?
Nope..I'm usually a sound sleeper..I sleep immediately when i lie down..
do u watch TV or read before sleep ?
No.. :( I wrap up my work and get to sleep..
so u work late hours ?
do u have a specific time to go to sleep ?
or does it change daily ?
Not much..It's typically between 11.45 to 12.15
so u now have falling asleep ?
Yes..Having trouble falling asleep..
how much time, does it take, for u to sleep, once on the bed ?
i mean fall asleep ?
About a week back, It took almost 4 hours before I fell asleep..
Yesterday, about 30 minutes..
so u are probably getting back to your normal rhythm , now
I'm not sure about that..My normal rhythm is to fall asleep immediately :) But like yesterday, Until i fall asleep, i feel very uncomfortable..
usually, falling asleep within 30 minutes , is ok
in case a person is stressed or anxious about something, and he is thinking too much, then that is the main reason for delayed onset of sleep
sometimes, if a person goes to bed much earleier than he is used to, then it is also a reason
the body has a clock of its own
and it does stick to it
I see. Does this point to any heart related issues? I'm very concerned about that as well..
that is not related to any anything abnormal
Ok.. Thank you so much for your time and advice doctor..
I'll wait for another 5-10 days to see how it works out..
for a proper sleep, a regular time of sleeping or going to bed is needed
if u stick to it , then u will not have any such issues
Ok..I'll definitely try to regularize the time..
Some physical exercise on regular basis, preferably in morning improves restful sleep. Do not âexercise just before going to bed as it can detrimental to your sleep. â
U r welcome
