User:I have a couple of questions..
User:1. I have a history of migraine which is usually very intense during the summers (April-May)
User:2. I smoke and I'm trying to quit these days which makes me feel quite dull most of the times. I am not able to sleep well either.
User:My height is 171 cm and I weigh 65 KG
User:Do you suggest any medication or special diet which may help me feel better?

Doctor:1. Migraine is a chronic condition which is generally associated with lifestyle and environmental factors.
Doctor:The current treatment protocols of migraine is based on preventing migraine attacks.
Doctor:Since your episodes are triggered by exposure to sun, it is advisable that you avoid too much sun exposure.
Doctor:In addition other life style changes such as sleeping regularly, avoid fasting, involving in physical exercises and meditation will be useful.
Doctor:Medical drugs are prescribed if migraine headaches are very frequent and troubling your daily life and activities.
User:One more thing I forgot to mention is that I've had my BP checked thrice in the last one month casually and all the time it was constant at 135/90. Is it normal?
Doctor:Therefore start preparing a diary where you mention the date and time of every episode of headache. Also recollect events that happened before the headache and note them.
Doctor:This diary will help any doctor understand the nature of condition and other trigger factors - this in turn will help doctors to treat the condition effectively.

Doctor:As far as techniques to help you quit smoking, there is no precise / protocols known to quit tobacco.
Doctor:It is motivation level that help people quit.
Doctor:However currently there is a means to assist you quit smoking.
Doctor:This means is either the use of nicotine supplements or medical drugs.
Doctor:Nicotine supplement available currently are nicotine gums such as nicorette chewing gum;
Doctor:and nicotine patches (currently not available everwhere in India).
Doctor:In addition electronic cigarrettes with or without nicotine filters can be tried.
Doctor:These nicotine supplements can be used alternatively to cigarette during times of urge.
Doctor:About medical drugs, there are some psychiatry drugs such as varenicline which are used in a few patients to aid them quit smoke.

Doctor:However you may get your chest X-ray to see if there are any effects on lungs.
