Doctor :   Most often the cause for high blood pressure is not known.
Doctor :   A few, there are kidney issues which on correction can normalise the blood pressure.
Doctor :   Since he is not known to have any kidney problems, the cause is for such high reading is probably unknown.
Doctor :   Stress factors, irregular medications, lack of physical activity are few known factors that can lead to high blood pressure readings.
Doctor :   It would be best, if your dad consult a doctor, but if he is not wishing to see a doctor,
Doctor :   then my suggestions are as follows
User :   can i interrupt you?
Doctor :   Yes.
User :   the doctor he consulted and prescribed avapro
Doctor :   Ok
User :   told him he could take and norvasc if readings are high
User :   would it be silly to add norvasc in his medication?
Doctor :   Since your dad is right now stressed out, too many medications can make him non compliant with them.
Doctor :   Hence follow with the two medications that your doctor has recommended now.
Doctor :   Keep the blood pressure monitoring.
Doctor :   If the 2 medications which he is currently on, is not enough to control the medications, a third can be introduced.

Doctor :   1. regular medications as suggested by your doctors.

Doctor :   4. Regular BP monitoring.
Doctor :   If the blood pressure readings are above 140 -160 mmHg
