User :   I am 25 yr old male and had a minor stomach infection followed by loose motions, I recovered from it in 2 days but then an acute pain started in the anal opening. The pain is persisting since past 2 days and I am wondering what might be the problem? No blood in the stool, no history of piles or constipation? Could you suggest something?
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Dr xxx here
User :   hello
Doctor :   Let me read what you have typed.
Doctor :   When did you have stomach infection? Did you take any medications for that?
User :   may the foul food eating may be the cause but I took no medicine
Doctor :   When did you have stomach infection? IS there any burning or itching?
User :   slight burning sensation in the anus but no severe burning or itching
User :   but pain is severe
Doctor :   What do you mean by stomach infection? Was there any loose motions or stomachache?
User :   yes loose motions no stomaache
Doctor :   Is the pain present right now continuous or periodic?
Doctor :   Is it only during straining of stool or alway?
User :   It is kindof periodic, very severe in morning and then settles down. Is persists, it is hardly dependent on passing stool
User :   By severe I do not mean unbearable but quite noticing
Doctor :   The pain could be due to various reasons as infection or sometimes due to continuous passing of stools the rectal opening gets inflammed and also tears may be there which would be causing this.
User :   I first thought it to be an acne or a big pimple down there and took ofloxin
User :   it is at the right side of the anal opening
Doctor :   It can also be due to viral infection or an abscess and sometimes due to back problems also
Doctor :   Can you feel any lump or swelling at that point?
User :   yes, swelling is noticeable
User :   at the right side
Doctor :   Do you have constipation in usual days?
User :   never in my lifetime, and even now I'm suffering no constipation
Doctor :   If swelling and pain is there then it probably indicates some infection and needs a proper examination by a general surgeon who will use an instrument called Rectoscope or Colonoscope .
Doctor :   It will help in finding the exact reason for this pain and swelling
Doctor :   Have balanced diet of fruits and lots of water.
Doctor :   Keep that area dry and do not let it be moist
User :   swelling is very minor, infact least only on the right side of anal opening. It feels like a vein has swelled due to exerting lot of pressure during the loose motions time
Doctor :   Avoid scratching the area
Doctor :   Then probably its inflammed vein or so because of the previous infection.
Doctor :   You van just watch if it subsides on its own by 3 to 5 days.
Doctor :   If not then get it examined.
User :   any medicine to releive the pain
Doctor :   The loose stools cause the area to be sore sometimes and lead to this
User :   you mentioned something about the back problem, I've had a history of lower disc problems
Doctor :   You can take Tab SUMO
User :   my disc dislocated twice in past 5 years
Doctor :   Yes disc problems also lead to this pain sometimes because the nerve involvement is there, but the swelling being present indicates more often infection.
Doctor :   2)Apply ALOE VERA gel 3 times a day in that area. It will help in healing
User :   I still doubt it has swelled noticeably
User :   ok, so SUMO tablet for pain and aloe vera gel thrice a day
Doctor :   Yes and have fruits and juices in diet.
Doctor :   Avoid outside food.
User :   alright
Doctor :   If the swelling increases and pain does not subside do get it examined.
User :   Sure I will, thanks a ton for the advise
Doctor :   Is there anything else you would like to know?
User :   No thank you, you've great. Thanks and Bye, have a great day ahead!!
Doctor :   Take care
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me, bye for now
