Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   How can i help you today?
Doctor :   are u there ?
User :   Hi, I have been experiencing some strange sensations in both my hands, at the moment, my left, a spongy feeling, not numbness or pins or needles, mainly accross the palm and ring and little fingers. No other problems with grip or function. I have also woken a few times to find my hands numb with pins and needles and feel very scared it could be MS.
Doctor :   may i know your age ?
User :   30
Doctor :   and also have you observed these symptoms only when you woke up ?
User :   yes
User :   although I'm pretty sure I hadn't been laying on the arms/hands
Doctor :   can you be sure that at any point of time you had not turned over to apply pressure on the arms, shoulder, etc ?
Doctor :   I am asking these questions, just to make sure
User :   No, can't be sure, but a few times I believe I have woken with both arms at my sides and the pins and needles there. It goes as soon as I move my arms and hang them over the side of the bed.
Doctor :   MAY i know how long these symptoms last, once you wake up ?
User :   Not long, less than a minute?
Doctor :   any difficulty walking, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, etc associated with it ?
User :   No, except for nausea, but I have had that since I was diagnosed with IBS some time ago
Doctor :   In that case, your symptoms are very minimal and not that serious, i can assure this very much
Doctor :   there a few classic features of MS, that if present could point and confirm MS
Doctor :   eg, photophobia, visual disturbances,
Doctor :   classic electric shock like sensory symptoms
Doctor :   sudden and prolonged weakness, lasting for days
User :   No, I have had some randon burning sensations on my body which my doctor thought were anxiety related, but no weakness or vision problems
Doctor :   issues like difficulty swallowing, weakness of ocular muscles etc
Doctor :   In that case you need not be worried about MS
Doctor :   to help your symptoms, you can sleep in a bed surrounded by 3-4 pillows (soft), which support your arms and hands and avoid pressure on them
Doctor :   also adequate rest, and 7-8 hrs of sleep daily will relieve your stress and help
Doctor :   Have u understood my comments ?
User :   Yes, thankyou very much for your help.
Doctor :   have i answered your queries ?
User :   Yes, thankyou
Doctor :   if so, please leave your feedback at the end of the chat, as u log out
Doctor :   you are welcome
Doctor :   take care and have a great day
Doctor :   bye for now
