User :   hi, Im almost 22 years old and im having a fizzing sound in the base of my skull. I have been in a few accidents before, and from my reading on the topic it could be from trauma. Is this a serious matter? Should i be concerned.

User :   i hear it about 4-5 times daily.. It started about 4 months ago, usually while im just sitting around the house or at work on the computer etc..
User :   It doesnt last very long either
Doctor :   Is it like due to rubbing of bones ?
User :   no, i dont think so. I did injury it once in an accident where a truck flipped on us and about 6 months before that i was in a bad dirk bike accident, broke my lower back in a few places and compressed a disk

User :   yes, its like a rush of fluids, like a fizzing sound or something of that sort
Doctor :   where exactly do you feel it is , ear or the neck ?
User :   neck
Doctor :   ok, it could not be due to any fracture of the skull
User :   It comes from the center straight up and down in the spinal region
User :   could it be some type of blockage?
Doctor :   such sounds are heard in the neck when there is a laryngeal deformity , commonly a laryngoceol
Doctor :   a detailed examination with a laryngeal mirror would give insights into the cause
Doctor :   and it is done by a ENT specialist
User :   Ok, Ill schedule an apppointment with the doctor sometime next week, In the mean time should i restrain from strenous activities?
Doctor :   no , its not serious
Doctor :   you continue with normal work
Doctor :   just take care that you do not get cough
Doctor :   avoid dust and infected people

Doctor :   nothing related to skull fracture produce such sound
