User :   I think I was bitten by a spider but I cant see fang marks and the pain, swelling and hardness has almost completely gone away
Doctor :   hi
User :   hello
Doctor :   how long back was the bite?
User :   about 45 minutes
User :   i have been putting ice on it and took some benadryl and ibuprofen
Doctor :   if the swelling redness and pain has gone away or is diminishing, then you need not worry about it
Doctor :   look out for additional symptoms in next 24-48 hours
Doctor :   that includes skin color and appearance changes
Doctor :   and reversal of redness, itching, hardness etc
User :   it is still quite sore if i say scratch over the specific area
User :   it is still hard
Doctor :   continue to put ice on it every 10-15 minutes
Doctor :   if it remains the same even after next 1 hour
Doctor :   then go ahead with examination by a doctor
Doctor :   as you might need to be put on antihistamines
User :   i am just scared of a brown recluse bite because of my location
Doctor :   yes, i understand, hence I suggested you to go ahead with examination if symptoms are not resolving within one hour
User :   ok
Doctor :   of ice and medication use
Doctor :   benadryl and ibuprofen that you have taken will take some 20-30 minutes to act
User :   is there anything else that would be similar that isnt a spider bite since there arent fang marks?
Doctor :   so if within one hour you do not see any t=relief it wold mean serious issue
User :   ok then
Doctor :   it could be an ant bite or any other insect bite
Doctor :   which do not have fang marks
User :   would those be hard?
Doctor :   where is teh affected site located in body? i mean to ask where did you get bitten?
User :   my pinky right on the side near the tip
Doctor :   they would vary in consistency, initially all would be hard
User :   ok
Doctor :   ok
User :   thank you
Doctor :   i would recommend you to wait and watch
User :   i will do that
Doctor :   and go ahead with examination if no relief in 1 hour
User :   ok sounds good
User :   ty
Doctor :   to make sure of what is going on and take treatment for serious bites
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   i do have charcoal here as well is that also a good option?
Doctor :   chracoal usually is of help for ingested poisons
Doctor :   it will be of little help in this case
Doctor :   if it a brown recluse bite
Doctor :   or any otehr insect bite
Doctor :   you will need antihistamines and probably antidote
User :   ok then, well thank you
