User :   Hello there
Doctor :   hello
User :   I have some questions regarding my rare disease, EDS ever heard of it?
Doctor :   how can i help you ?
User :   Also known as Ehler Danlos Syndrome
Doctor :   yes tell me
User :   Ok great, oviously you are aware of that one of the problems for people with EDS is that they have slower muscle gain and soreness, I'm not sure of which level I have but it's a huge setback on my physical health
Doctor :   may i know your age and gender please ?
User :   I'm 21, male
Doctor :   and do you know what TYPE of EDS you have /?
User :   Not excactly, my skin is stretchy/soft and I have hypermobility joints
User :   I also bruise easily
User :   I can participate in sports to some extent, so its not that severe EDS
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   yes thats there
User :   On to my question! :)
User :   I saw a documentary dealing with muscle problems, and they had great results using anabolic steriods, so my question is, can anabolic steriods benefit EDS patients struggling with the disease?
User :   since it helps muscle growth significally?
Doctor :   well i must say that still research is going on and still anabolic steroids are NOT considered main course treatement
Doctor :   so its not yet prescribed
User :   yeah im aware of that it's still considered as a "banned substance" which we have to thank the sports commite to, the pros easily wager up the cons such as slight acne
Doctor :   yes
User :   but, would it be a long shot to ask my local doctor for a anabolic treatment considering my condition?
User :   there really isn't any alternatives at this point :(
Doctor :   he will say no
Doctor :   dont give up hope
Doctor :   your disease looks not very severe
User :   I dont want to end up stiff and weak when I get older, as my mom have
Doctor :   so dont worry
Doctor :   be positive
User :   she was active in young age aswell, but now shes struggling with cramps and can't work
User :   due to the disease
Doctor :   the research is going at a fast pace
Doctor :   and well there is nothing wrong in asking your physician what are HIS views about the steroids
User :   It's a long shot, altough im sure it would help out allot, but anabolic steriods has gotten a bad reputation due to the media imo
Doctor :   well nothing wrong in asking in your case
User :   yeah
User :   As a respected doctor, do you classify anabolic steriods as a dangerous drug (if you don't overdose it that is)?
Doctor :   yes sure we do as its very very prone to abuse
User :   with abuse do you mean - taking more then you should?
Doctor :   yes
User :   if so, if you stick with the low recommended dosage - it's not that *dangerous*?
User :   I mean, If i swallow 20 aspirins I don't expect to feel good after it :P
Doctor :   yes
User :   alright, so basically.. if you handle it with care it's should be no problem
Doctor :   yes thats correct
User :   ok thanks for the info, however regarding EDS which other treatments are there currently?
Doctor :   Ehlers-Danlos syndromes are treated according to the particular manifestations present in a given individual.
Doctor :   presently there are no specific treatment
Doctor :   your most welcome
Doctor :   take care of your self

User :   ah, 15mins is over?
User :   well thanks for your time :)
