User :   Hi,
I am a 41-yr-old female; 5'4", 134 lbs. I'm having some strange symptoms and am kind of worried as to what they could mean.
Last Friday, I got sick with diarrhea several times through Sunday. On Monday I began having a strange tannish (blood?) mucous coming from my rectum when I tried to have a bowel movement. In addition, I have had increased gas and stomach rumblings. I have not had a bowel movement since the diarrhea and each time I try, all I get is the same colored mucuous, which smells horrible - like something is rotting.
I do have a history of cancer (cervical). I had a hysterectomy in 2007 and am now cancer-free. As such, I tend to freak out when anything is not quite right with my body.
I have an appt. scheduled with my Gastro doc on Feb. 24, but I don't want to worry until then.
Any ideas?

Doctor :   its ok, be selective in your food
Doctor :   avoid spicy foods

Doctor :   no, the best antibiotic for it is well chosen by getting a stooltest
Doctor :   and the antibiotic differs here
User :   In the meantime, should I try to take something to help me have a BM or use a suppository?
Doctor :   do not use suppository, take laxatives like liquid Parrafin

Doctor :   Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's are chronic illnesses
Doctor :   i do not consider them being the chance here
User :   No possible cancer with these symptoms?
Doctor :   unless ruled out, and a no from my side
