User :   I randomly threw up this past weekend. I hadn't eaten anything and didn't hydrate enough. I assumed I was probably just dehydrated (I wasn't thirsty despite not drinking, but forced myself to down water). I was fine two days later. Now I'm having a mild form of the same type of discomfort I had a few days back. On a scale of 1 to 10, I was a 10 over the weekend and probably am a 1 to 2 now. Any ideas?
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hello
User :   Hi
Doctor :   Give me few moments to go thriugh your question.
Doctor :   *through
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Could I ask a few questions relating to your illness?
User :   Sure
Doctor :   What is your age?
User :   22 years old
Doctor :   What other symptoms you had correlating with the previous bout of illness?
Doctor :   Like dryness in skin, lips, mouth?
User :   Not really. Pain has been primarily in my stomach area between the breast bone and belly button.
User :   No, none of those symptoms.
Doctor :   Ok
User :   I generally feel better after I eat.
Doctor :   So you had hardly taken any food the previous week?
User :   No, just that first day. I have a 5 month old and was preoccupied and forgot to eat, haha.
Doctor :   Ok, do you also have any cramps in the calf muscles?
User :   No.
Doctor :   Did you have any other aggravating factors like vomiting, diarrhea?
Doctor :   Or any lightheadedness, dryness in eyes?
User :   The first day of my illness I did vomit a total of four times (it was all water that I had consumed a few hours prior) and mild diarrhea
User :   Lightheaded following vomiting.
Doctor :   Any associated fever?
User :   No.
Doctor :   Is your urine showing signs of concentrated nature like yellowish ? color
User :   Somewhat, but definitely not extremely yellow. Looked normal to me (based on my usual liquid consumption)
Doctor :   Lets go ahead with some ways to treat it at home, and if it gets worse you need to consult a doctor as you are also a mother nursing a baby.
User :   I'm actually not nursing. I feed my baby formula.
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   1.First things first, you need to be very very careful with your diet and rest as mothers tend to get tired when they have a baby and usually have sleepless nights.
Doctor :   2.Take lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, juices & fluids to keep you rehydrated at regular intervals.
Doctor :   Do you follow?
User :   Yes. I actually eat quite healthy and have had no problems sleeping.
Doctor :   Ok,but you said, I randomly threw up this past weekend. I hadn't eaten anything and didn't hydrate enough.
User :   On the initial day of my illness. I forgot to eat and drink enough liquids only once.
Doctor :   Ok
User :   I've been eating fruits and veggies and drinking plenty of water ever since I initially threw up.
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   So now do you have vomitings & diarrhea now?
User :   No
User :   Feel perfectly fine except for mild discomfort in the area I previously mentioned.
Doctor :   If the pain in the stomach persists after taking food then it must be related to something else like infection. Then you have to get a CBC,ESR DONE
Doctor :   go to a doctor for check up.
User :   Okay, thanks.
Doctor :   if not it gets well after taking food
Doctor :   then it is fine .
Doctor :   thank you for consulting me.
