User :   I'm suffering from asthma, have trouble sleeping, chest and back pain and am very agitated. My asthma pumps don't seem to be working?
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   please describe your symptoms in detail.
Doctor :   It seems you have moved out of the chat window. please log in back if you have medical queries
Doctor :   are you there?
User :   I have upper back pain, am coughing, am feeling very agitated and am not sleeping at all. My chest is tight.
Doctor :   what medications are you taking at present?
Doctor :   is there wheezing present?
Doctor :   is there chest tightness associated?
Doctor :   is there cough or runny nose assocaited?
User :   Salbutamol and my blue asthma pump. A little wheezing. Yes definitely chest tightness. And I have a post nasal drip. No runny nose as such.
Doctor :   what made your asthma symptoms worse? can you identify and precipitating factors that made your symptoms worse?
User :   No I can't. I don't know what has brought this on or made it worse than normal.
Doctor :   asthma symptoms are known to worsen if any ongoing infection is present especially of upper respiratory tract.
Doctor :   the presence of postnasal drip will be the probable cause that is irritating the airways giving you symptoms.
User :   How do I control/get rid of the post nasal drip. It seems to be an ongoing problem.
Doctor :   if the pumps are not giving you desired relief, you will require a nebulization to be given
Doctor :   once your current symptoms are controlled, examination will be continued to look for cause fro the post nasal drip and treat it
Doctor :   visit an ER/ urgent care center if the pumps are not giving relief, as you will probably require nebulization to be given along with oxygen
Doctor :   is there fever associated?
User :   No fever at all.
Doctor :   is there headache present?
User :   Yes and a bunged up heady feeling. Foggy head.
Doctor :   ok. does it pain more when you attempt to look or bend down?
User :   a little.
Doctor :   ok, then it suggests probability of sinus infection that is causing the post nasal drip
Doctor :   I would recommend you to go ahead with additional check done by an ENT surgeon to rule out sinus infection as cause for post nasal drip
Doctor :   if sinus infection or sinusitis is present, then antibiotic course would need to be prescribed to effectively control all your symptoms
Doctor :   have you followed what I have said?
User :   Yes I have, thank you very much for your help.
Doctor :   once infection is under control, your respiratory/asthma symptoms too will get controlled
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   No nothing at the moment. Many thanks
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me. bye for now.
