User :   I think I am having a problem with forming habits

User :   I cant stick to anything for too long and I stay awake at night too much
User :   I keep craving for some activity something I fear has come out of a gaming addiction I had years and years ago

User :   I am not able to relate to people and this inability to stick to anything at all is very serious
User :   its affecting my confidence and additionally I am not able to concentrate throughout the day as I cannot sleep

User :   like almost everyday I decide I am going to do a certain task daily

User :   I have seen a psychologist in the past but it hasnt worked

User :   yes because it affects my sleep
User :   no because of sleep trouble

User :   but I think its more to do with lack of sleep but I am not sure

User :   but I remember my father once said that he used to experience a lot of ocd and when I said how did he get over it he said just by working

Doctor :   You can try OTC drugs such as tylenol cold and sinus or tab phenargan.
Doctor :   These are not sleeping pills, they just cause drowsiness and shall help you in aiding in sleep.

Doctor :   1. Modifying the sleep environment that would include the room paints, the use of low intensity bulbs, use of soft mattress and pillows.

User :   a long time ago back in college

User :   a very long time ago in college in fact before school I used to have problems with reading

User :   and I remember I used to repeat reading a lot and during that time due to the pressure to read or maybe to read and retain what I have read I used to visualise stuff

User :   like for everything I have to remember I would visualise and then remember that
Doctor :   Visualisation is abnormal if you thoughts are persistent.
User :   during that time I felt a lot like I was disorganised and to keep myself 'organised'
User :   I used to have this illusion of a circular shape on my hand....

User :   ...what I went through back in that time is what I am a lot confused and paranoid about
User :   and that kind of illusion returns sometimes

Doctor :   A persistent thought problems can be evaluated by face to face confrontation alone.

Doctor :   If your thought abnormality is persistent and occuring very often then that needs to be evaluated.
Doctor :   if your thoughts are not very frequent and are not affecting you severely, then they will over a time fade away, once you recognize it as false.
Doctor :   Are you following?
User :   it is just that I feel that some paranoid thoughts that I have now may have route in that sort of stupid visualisations I used to do in that time

Doctor :   Its these thoughts that have to be looked after.
Doctor :   Hence I would not suggest you to take them lightly, if they are very frequent and is impairing your daily activities.

Doctor :   And similarly if they are not that frequent, once you recognize them as false and start ignoring them, they will over a period of time disappear.

Doctor :   finally about your inability to perform task, it is important that you correct if there is a cause for it.

Doctor :   Its important that you have confidence in what you are doing.
Doctor :   I shall suggest you a simple method that you may follow.
Doctor :   1. Start knowing the importance of the task that you are about to do.
Doctor :   There can be a few ones that may be ignored but not all.

Doctor :   this can be achieved by making a list and marking them as the ones that are really important.

Doctor :   2. You can break those tasks into simple ones and fix a time limit to it.

Doctor :   Once you have achieved them, you would be able to get the confidence which may inturn guide you to the next step with more confidence.
Doctor :   3. Stop worrying of the mistakes that you commit, but fail to rectify them.

Doctor :   4. Read books, there are various books available which can help you in building confidence in oneself and with their work.

Doctor :   However over a period of time you will be able to over come them.
