User :   health query
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   How can I help you?
User :   last chat on sep 11. Had viral and very freq urine. had fbs chkd . fbs 190 pp 256. ur doc adv
Doctor :   May I know what medications are you on for diabetes?
User :   high fbs during viral . turned out to be UTI. did diet control and regular exercise with biiert gourd juice. pp after 2 weeks 128. am i normal now?
User :   continuing my diet and exercise. no nedications. advise
Doctor :   Based on the reports, your sugars are high.
Doctor :   Let me explain you.
Doctor :   During an infection, its normal that sugar levels go high,
Doctor :   and the usually requiring help of medications or insulin to control them.
Doctor :   Your sugars are definitely high.
Doctor :   If the infection is still active, then there are chances that the sugar levels can rise even further, and you may need the medical drugs (or insulin for better control) to get the sugars down.
Doctor :   Hence my suggestions are
Doctor :   1. If your symptoms of UTI are persisting, then I suggest you to report to your doctor for antidiabetic medications (insulin would be better, alternatively oral hypoglycemics)
Doctor :   2. If the infections has improved, then
Doctor :   you may still use the benefits of these medications for better sugar control or alternatively
Doctor :   watch out for the symptoms of hypergylcemia, such as easy fatiguability, increased frequency of urination, increased thirst, dizziness.
Doctor :   Get the sugars monitored for a week or two,
Doctor :   and if the sugars are persist to be high, then take the help of the medical drugs.
User :   took UTO medicines from sep 23rd, Viral got over in 3 days without any diabetic med. tiil today no UTI, no viral feeling absolutley normal. Doin diet control n 30 min walk everyday. On 29 sep. got pp done. It was 128.
User :   sorry UTI med.
User :   No symptoms at all
User :   Was it just due to viral infection/UTI?
Doctor :   If your present FBS levels are 196, my personal suggestions would be to consider antidiabetic medications as they can control sugars better than diet control
User :   But my pp was 128 a month back!
Doctor :   As I mentioned earlier, any infections can cause rise in the sugars,
Doctor :   but the present cause is more due to UTI than viral.
User :   But at present no UTI or any sign of healing taking longer than usual!
User :   Is it temporary rise?
Doctor :   It takes time for sugar levels to normalise following an infection.,
Doctor :   It would generally take a few months for that to happen.
Doctor :   Though it will be temporary, it may take a few months,
Doctor :   hence my suggestions are that you consider the use of antidiabetic medications.
Doctor :   Report to your doctor to obtain them.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
Doctor :   Do you have any other query?
