User :   Hello Doc, I wanna consult with gynae problem here for my wife

User :   She is 34 , Has developed PCOD , we dont have any children
User :   We were planning in couple of months when this news came in on check up
Doctor :   When did you come to know about PCOD?
User :   Two days back on pelvic ultrsound
Doctor :   How many cysts have been detected in ultrasound?
User :   that i cant say
User :   cos She met with the doc (Gynae)
User :   and was very upset after that
Doctor :   Does she have regular periods?
Doctor :   Or any associated problems?
User :   I am telling you all , please go through that

User :   She had her last period on April 24- april29 (It was very good flow), she normally has regular periods
User :   But since after she had no periods, so she consulted a gynae here in noida at metro hospital

User :   she suggsted to go for pregnancy test and a pelvic USG
Doctor :   Do you have her reports with you right now? If yes please tell
User :   Pregnancy test was negative but USG showed PCOD
User :   I am having her USG report only

User :   and show multiple peripheral placed small follicles s/o polycystic ovarian disease

User :   she is 5 feet and her weight is also 47Kgs

Doctor :   First of all you need not be scared that if she has PCOD she cannot conceive.
Doctor :   Since until now she was having regular periods and there is no other associated problems it means she was ovulating

Doctor :   Ovulation is essential for a woman to conceive.
User :   yes this the first time her period gets so much delayed
Doctor :   It takes time for a woman having PCOD to conceive but not impossible
Doctor :   There are different treatments available these days which can help a PCOD woman to conceive
Doctor :   First of blood sugars are to be controlled
Doctor :   2) She may need to go for hormonal evaluation and ovulation study
Doctor :   3) Also she may be given medications for having periods.
Doctor :   4) If there is any associated pelvic infection present that is also to be cured first
Doctor :   She should consult a gynecologist for PCOD treatment.
Doctor :   After conducting ovulation Study she may also be given an ovulation Stimulation along with diet and lifestyle modification including some medicationa

User :   doctor has given her meperate ; and ASK HER to go through some tests on the second day of her periods commencement after taking medicine she is complaaining some white milky discharge from her Urine also and pelvic pain also with intermittent low fever with feeling of weakness and exhaustion

Doctor :   Sometimes PCOD happens for short time when there is hormonal alteration which can be cured
Doctor :   It may be some Urinary tract infection or pelvic infection

Doctor :   If that is there after curing it only the treatment for PCOD will start.
User :   bcause she is a working woman , she was addressing this pelvic pain near mid-hip joint and whity milky discharge for the last 4 months now
Doctor :   In diabetic patients some anti diabetic medications are also started which are really helpful in reducing complications of PCOD
User :   we consulted one general physician , he addressed it as wrong sitting posture
Doctor :   That indicates she is suffering from this infection since long
User :   How long we can think of planning a baby

Doctor :   Normal vaginal discharge is ok but if associated with foul smell and pelvic pain it suggests infection
Doctor :   First of all get her cured of infection, have her periods and then start the treatment
User :   smell is not there , but pain with low fever and milky urine is there
Doctor :   Also her urine culture and sensitivity may be required to rule out the causative organism

User :   Doc , is this PCOD is curable, can a women go back to her ovary without cysts ?
Doctor :   Yeah there are treatments for PCOD. Laproscopic bursting is done of these cysts and it is effective.
Doctor :   Sometimes these cysts regress by themself even after woman conceives.
