User :   12-13yrs
Doctor :   Is there any reason why you did not approach a Doctor before?
Doctor :
In fact you have to approach a Doctor who is specialist in Sleep Medicine
User :   my gp won't send me to see a specialist
Doctor :   A test called Sleep graph ( EEG) is done
User :   she says its just fatigue from glandular fever
User :   but im not convinced

Your sleep cycle
User :   i sleep very deep
Doctor :
One important question
Doctor :
Does your co employee or friends complain about your tiredness or your underperformance at work?

Doctor :
Are you sure about it?
User :   i can't afford private medicine
Doctor :
Where do you stay?
User :   live with parents
Doctor :
I mean country?
User :
Doctor :
Then actually you have to sit with your GP and elaborate what are the all the measures you took
Doctor :
and still not coping up with this
Doctor :
Glandular fever increases the tiredness
User :   i did this morning and got the same answer 'there is nothing we can do as its the glandular fever'
Doctor :   Why cannot you ask her to refer you to Sleep medicine specialist
Doctor :
Sleeping for 12 to 14 hours is definitely not normal
User :   i will, i didn't know they existed
User :   i tried to tell her it ruins my life sleeping too much
Doctor :
In fact they are also Neurologists / Sleep medicine specialist
User :   ah i recognise the name neurologist
User :   a neurologist may be able to help me?
Doctor :
There are few doctors specially trained in Sleep medicine, they can be of help to you.\
Doctor :
If you city has none, then you may see the Neurologist
User :   i don't recognise the name sleep medicine specialist. Im not sure if we have them in UK or if they are called something different
Doctor :
No worry your GP would be able to help you in this
Doctor :
if there, she will refer else she may help in referring to Neurolgoist
Doctor :   She has to pass on all the records to the concerned Doctor for him not to make you undergo all the tests once again

Doctor :
and test you specifically

Doctor :   Hi are you back?
User :   yes
Doctor :
So did you understand what all I said?
User :   yes thank you
Doctor :
You have to understand the fact that, glandular fever causes fatigue in the inidividuals affected by it
Doctor :
But since you have this problem earlier to its occurence
User :   i know but how many years can people blame it on glandular fever
Doctor :
and this post glandular fever tiredness has added to the severity
User :   i think i may have chronic fatigue syndrome but i am scared to say to my gp
User :   or possibly related to my low sugar levels
Doctor :
Listen, your Doctor should be your friend and a right guide for your health
Doctor :
You should put your opinion to him / her so that he can help you with the answers
Doctor :
If you have some opinions in mind floating, certainly I suggest you to put across to her.
User :   they may think immaking things up
Doctor :
In fact I too think of that but that is a diagnosis of exclusion
Doctor :
that is after ruling out everything the Doctor should come to that conclusion
User :   i thought that but how long will they keep saying its glandular fever. I may have to wait 5 yrs until they realise its not going away with time
Doctor :
You can approach a Glandular help service for more updates and answers in your country
Doctor :
They might be of help to you
Doctor :
Glandular fever can result in Malaise and Fatigue the GP should realise that sooner
User :   i had it before though
Doctor :
Which one?
User :   tiredness. when i was 2 i was really fatigued and ill and the doctor said i had glandular fever at age 2 but my gp says its impossible cuz i had it a few years ago
User :   aparrently you can't get it twice so she said when i was 2 it was a missdiagnosis as i never had blood tests
User :   so ive been fatigued since 2yrs old
Doctor :   Ok, check this link I think might of some use to you
Doctor :
http://www.glandularfever.me.uk/glandular_fever/#5
Doctor :
I feel that you need a Sleep medicine specialist Opinion and next a Psychiatrist
Doctor :
to check for the Chronic Fatigue syndrome
Doctor :
So you may discuss this with your GP
User :   psychiatist?
Doctor :   to check for the Chronic Fatigue syndrome

User :   ok
User :   how do they check of chronic fatigue syndrome? a psychological evaluation?
User :   There are not tests that can be done to prove this?
Doctor :
Tests to rule out other possibilities
User :   what are other possibilities?
Doctor :
If none proves then they say it a CFS
Doctor :
I think your GP has almost ruled out other possibilities
User :   she never said what she was looking for
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :
Anemia, thyroid and adrenal hormone testing
Doctor :
calcium testing
Doctor :
and sleep apnoea testing is done by
Doctor :
Out of which all the above could have been done by your GP
Doctor :
except the Sleep apnoea
Doctor :
which the sleep medicne specialist does / neurologist
User :   ok
Doctor :
If it is ruled out then the Psychiatrist comes to play
User :   i know im not anemic
Doctor :
Incidentally the Viral and Infectious mononucleosis also cause the CGS
Doctor :
which you were again infected with
Doctor :
two years back
Doctor :
The Doctor will check for some trigger points in the body
Doctor :
too
Doctor :   for the pain
User :   can i pass glandular fever on to other people?
