User :   I may have had one tiny brown flake in my urine i am male had a prostate infection 4 mos ago no pain or burning while peeing no fever what could this be
Doctor :   Hi,
User :   hi
Doctor :   Was this only once ?
User :   maybe a couple of times not totaly sure if it was dirt or something else
Doctor :   Ok, how big was the flake ?
User :   I would say smaller than the head of a pin.
Doctor :   ok, Do you have pain abdomen ?
User :   no
Doctor :   Ok, are you on any medication now ?
User :   Have had allergy and cold symptoms and coughing for the last month and it seems to be getting better now, which I have about every year. I have been taking the CVS brand of Tylenol Non drowsy sinus, with pseudephrine (not sure how it's spelled) and acteminophen. I also take a multi-vitamin, multi-mineral, herb whole food supplement everyday
Doctor :   ok, none of the above could contribute to the problem you have now ,
Doctor :   What prostate surgery had you been through and what was the indication ?
User :   No surgery, just prostate infection was the diagnosis. I was on Cipro for 6 weeks for this, and I finished that in mid November.
Doctor :   oh sorry , i get it
Doctor :   Ok, there could be a chance of bleeding from the prostate infection , may be completely sterile ( got rid of bacteria ) but the infection wounds might have persisted
Doctor :   If in that case there would be no need of any treatment , drinking more water will help
Doctor :   but other causes like kidney stones or bladder stones have to be ruled out
User :   Ok. The doctor said at that time I was drinking too much Diet Coke, so I have been trying to drink more water. I don't have any pain in the kidney area
Doctor :   and this could be done by a abdominal Ultrasound scan , before getting that done i would ask you wait for another 3 to 4 days and have keep observation on the urine
User :   Ok.
Doctor :   The kidney stones will be my last suspection as you do not have pain,
Doctor :   hence wait for 3 to 4 days before investigating for the same
Doctor :   if you see more flakes in coming days then you should go for a USG scan which also can spot out the prostate involvement
User :   Ok. That sounds good! I appreciate your help!
Doctor :   you are welcome
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me
Doctor :   kindly provide your feedback
User :   gladly will
Doctor :   Bye for now
User :   Bye.
Doctor :   Take care
Doctor :   wish you good health
User :   Thank you.
