Doctor :   yes
Doctor :   I am a General Physician, our medical training involves Women's health too
User :   ok, yesterday I recieved a sonohystogram ( where they place saline in the uterus to look for polyps.) I have on about 1 cm- My uterus is severly tilted and they said that they will have to do a D&C
Doctor :   are you with me?
Doctor :   I have few questions for you before we proceed with our discussion here
User :   yes
Doctor :   What is your age?
User :   26
Doctor :   Why did you get the hysterosalpingogram ? I mean why did you see a doctor first?
User :   I have had ovarian cysts in the past. At that time I was having cyst pain so I went in to have a ultrasound, and kind of found it by accident. I am trying to get pregnant and I am so worried that all of these things will hinder that
Doctor :   Small polyp may not hinder the pregnancy
Doctor :   OFcourse it depends on the size, location of it
Doctor :   too
User :   mine is in the center of my uterus and it is about 1cm. I only have one- but I am worried about the D&C and how it will affect my chances of conceieving later
Doctor :   D & C helps in scraping the inner lining of uterus
Doctor :   it helps in removal of polyp if it is small
Doctor :   and increase the chances of nidus ( foetus) formation after successful conception
User :   But will it be more difficult and dangerous due to my uterus being tilted?
Doctor :   Uterus tilt can cause problems in pregnancy
User :   like what?
Doctor :   but the chances are not severely deteriorated
Doctor :   After conception there may not be good environment for the zygote( fertilized product ) to implant there
Doctor :   if the uterus is tilted
User :   but will it effect me actually conceiving? or carrying
Doctor :   To certain extent both of them
Doctor :   It seems you moved out of the chat
Doctor :   Please login if you have more queries
