Doctor:Yes, thyrox contains the same ingredients as eltroxin.
User:what would be mg to start with in my case?
Doctor:There are 2 approaches in treating it.
Doctor:Start with the higher dose and taper down depending on TSH levels
Doctor:or start with the lowest dose and increase it gradually.
Doctor:Depending on the clinical needs the best approach is decided.
Doctor:Considering you do not have any other associated symptoms apart from increased body weight, your physician may consider starting on 25 or 50micrograms for 2-3 months.
Doctor:They would repeat the test after 3-6 months and then titrate your dose accordingly.
Doctor:As the treatment is to be monitored to avoid adverse effects, it is best to avoid self treatment and to consult your physician or endocrinologist.
