Doctor:How can i help you?
User:hi. i have problem in my throat
Doctor:Can you explain what the problem is?
User:actually my throat is not always clear. its create bad smell
User:i have this problem for 3 yearrs
Doctor:Have you seen a doctor for this problem?
Doctor:May I know your age?
User:yes. little sinus is there in the ct scan result
Doctor:Are you on treatment for this problem?
User:also nasel septum deviation is there. so they advised me for the surgery
Doctor:Let me explain.
Doctor:Bad mouth odour can occur due to a few medical conditions.
Doctor:It can be related to nose/throat inflammation such as sinusitis, GIT conditions such as reflux oesophagitis or due to dental issues.
Doctor:Since you have a chronic sinusitis, the bad mouth odour could be related to the same.
Doctor:What you would need for a permanent cure is to treat the sinus problems either regular steam inhalation and antibiotics or with surgeries.
Doctor:In the meantime, I would suggest these
Doctor:1. Take antiulcer drugs such as Syp Mucaine gel 5ml thrice a day before food
Doctor:2. Omeprazole which is available on prescription in India.
Doctor:The above 2 drugs to be taken for 2-3 weeks
Doctor:3. Use mouth deodorizing agents such as mouth sprays/menthol
Doctor:4. Brush and floss your teeth twice a day.
Doctor:5. Rinse your mouth regularly with plain water or chlorhexidine mouth solution after every meal.
Doctor:These measure will give you temporary relief while you plan to consult your ENT surgeon for permanent cure.
Doctor:Have you followed what I suggested?
Doctor:Do you have any queries?
User:so the permenant solution is surgery right?
Doctor:Permanent solution is by treating the cause which in your case would be treating the sinus problem
Doctor:The treatment could be conservative or surgical
Doctor:as decided by a clinical examination.
Doctor:Your ENT surgeon will be the right person to make this choice.
Doctor:Have you followed?
User:doctor advised surgery.
Doctor:Then you would need to get this surgery done.
Doctor:This should take care of the bad mouth odor problem too.
User:is there any problem after surgery. i heard sinus will come freequently even if we do surgery. is it true
Doctor:The chances of recurrence after sinus surgery is less.
Doctor:There are different forms of surgery for the same problem.
User:actually my doctor advised nasel septum alainment as well as sunus surgery
Doctor:Both these issues i.e. deviated nasal septum leading to nasal congestion and inflammation as well as sinusitis can be the actual reasons for bad mouth odor.
Doctor:All these are inter-related.
Doctor:Treating the deviated nasal septum should reduce the occurrence of sinusitis as well as bad mouth odor.
Doctor:So I would suggest you to get this treated, as you are having symptoms.
Doctor:A few individuals who have asymptomatic sinus/deviated septum problems do not need such surgical treatment;
Doctor:but as you are symptomatic, it is advisable that you take the surgery to avoid future complications.
Doctor:There shouldn't be any recurrence following cure of deviated septum.
Doctor:Have you followed?
Doctor:Do you have any other query?
User:no thnk u
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Bye for now.
