User :   My son is 5 yr old. He has started swallowing excessively, making an odd noise. There is not excessive saliva. He is very active, not in pain, but he says that it feels like something is in his throat. I have looked. Pink and healthy tissure. He does it when he is thinking or working on legos, but it seems like if he is active it diminishes.
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   DR here
Doctor :   let me read ur query
User :   Hi there
Doctor :   does he put stuff into his mouth often ?
Doctor :   does he have any breathing trouble
User :   Not very often. I asked him if he put something in his mouth and he says no. He has been doing this for about 2 weeks and today it was the worst
User :   no breathing trouble
User :   a little nasal congestion
Doctor :   any running nose, cough ?
User :   i thought maybe he just had post nasal drip
User :   just recently started sneezing and some congestion
Doctor :   It seems then that he has a upper respiratory tract infection
Doctor :   Does he have any fever ?
User :   Today he started doing it every 5 seconds, very pronounced
User :   no fever, he has had plenty of colds and never done this before
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   When u look in his mouth, do the tonsils appear enlarged ?
User :   I see them, pink , healthy, but how big is enlarged in a little person?
Doctor :   usually larger than a quarter size
User :   I had him say Ahhhh, and I did see a peice of skin , kind of ragged, healthy though at the bottom of his tongue
User :   Not that big
Doctor :   thats fine
User :   ok
Doctor :   He might need some decongestants to help him
User :   I am not sure. I didn't see any mucous in the back of his throat
User :   I am sure it is there, but there was nothing but pink healthy tissue
Doctor :   presence of recurrent swallowing, indicates that he has a post nasal drip , causing throat irritation
Doctor :   it may be in the initial stages
User :   ok, what type of decongestant do you give a 5 yr old
Doctor :   sudafed pediatric nasal decongestant oral drops
User :   thanks
Doctor :   it seems that you have moved out of the chat window

Doctor :   bye for now'
