User :   I'm 43 years old and an ultrasound showed a thickening of my uterus at 20 mm. I'm not sure what time of month that was done. The doctor suggested a D&C but I have MS and I'm terrified of being put to sleep. She said the general would be easier than the epidural. She also put me on a strong progesterone creme and I've started to take Chaste Tree and DIM. My question, is how long do these supplements take to work? It has only been a couple of weeks since that ultrasound. Do you think it safe for me to wait? What is "being put to sleep" like? Thank you
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :
let me read
User :   Does that make any sense?
Doctor :   putting to sleep is general anesthesia

Doctor :   where the drug s are given to make you unconscious
User :   Right but I'm not sure what that is like, I've never had it. Also, my periods are very heavy but I get them once a month like clockwork. Does that sound like hormones?
Doctor :   heavy periods are not always hormonal
User :   What else are they?
User :   I have one small fibroid
Doctor :
it may be uterine cause also so only D&C has been recomended
Doctor :
one small fibroid will not cause much bleeding
User :   what could cause heavy periods?
Doctor :   there are many causes
User :   Can a polyp?
Doctor :
the most common is dysfunctional uterine bleeding
User :   What is that?
Doctor :   it is a type of disease where in there is an inc ordination between the hormones and the uterus causing heavy periods
User :   When they put you to sleep, is it with an IV. I have panic attacks and am terrified. What does it feel like when they give you the IV?
Doctor :
panic attacks are well taken care of when put to sleep
User :   do you just fall asleep quickly? Some people have told me they felt like they were just "high" before they go under.
Doctor :   you will lose conscious in sec and you will not know what is happening and what happened
User :   Do they give you something before the sleep medication that make you very groggy?
User :   Is it dangerous?
Doctor :   every day thousands of people have been put to sleep for hours and procedures have been done

User :   Even people with MS?
Doctor :   it is safe and common procedure
User :   Do you think the lining being at 20 mm is common or is it concerning?
Doctor :   yes people with MS are put to sleep and operated on heart also
User :   what is the treatment for dysfunctional uterine bleeding
Doctor :   i would like to know what is the diagnosis made for your heavy periods
User :   One doctor told me fibroids and the latest doctor told me the fibroid was small so she is thinking a polyp
User :   but of course, they want to check for cancer
Doctor :
so it is not yet diagnosed and a diagnostic curettage is been performed
User :   right
User :   and a hyrostomy or something where they examine the lining
Doctor :   D&C under general anesthesia is a safe procedure and you can undergo with out any fear even with MS
Doctor :
cardiologist opinion will be sort in this before the procedure
User :   What is it like when you wake up? Do you just pop awake?
Doctor :   it is like you do hard work all day and sleep heavily in the night and get up in the morning

User :   Ok time is up. THANK YOU!
Doctor :   thanks for consulting health care magic
Doctor :
bye for now
