Doctor :   Good to hear that , please proceed with your query
User :   I had an accident in June 2010. I had whiplash injury and I loss the curvature in my cervical spine and my lordosis in my lumbar region
User :   I didn't feel much symptoms until October when I came back to school
Doctor :   ok,
User :   and I get really terrible occipital region headaches
User :   at night
User :   some orthostatic hypotension
User :   and recently for the past few months, I have been getting early morning sweating/late night
User :   for the past 4 weeks, I also have been feeling extremely weak
User :   I'm not myself in the hospital
Doctor :   ok,
User :   sometimes I feel a fullness sensation in my ears, like a throbbing
User :   sorry, my symptoms are all over the place
Doctor :   no, more information will help
User :   The past couple of days, I have been getting sharp pain on the back of my neck, occipital area as well, but localized only on the left and it decreases with pressure
User :   when i massage back there, there is some movement, as if im moving a lymph node
User :   I go for regular massages, almost once weekly or bi weekly for the upper back pain that I have been having
User :   I had upper back pain for a few yrs, but it got worse after the accident
User :   and now I have to go for massages or the pain is unbearable
User :   I went to the hospital a couple months ago, because the headache pain wasn't relieved with ibuprofen, and my sodium was just below normal and everything else was normal, they suggested I get a CT
User :   I woke up at 4am this past morning with sweating excessively and the night before at around 1am
User :   I used to think the sweating was due to ovulation or menses but im no where close to ovulation or menses at the moment
Doctor :   ok, Can you explain me the immediate events after the accident ?
Doctor :   Where you hospitalized ?
User :   I was in the passenger side back seat, I hit the seat in front of me
User :   I was taken to emerg
User :   but they didnt do any additional testing
User :   I got a xray done a couple weeks post accident
Doctor :   Was a CT dne at that time ?
User :   my nose was fractured
User :   no
User :   I didn't have the headaches til a few months post accident
Doctor :   How was the reduction of lordosis diagnosed ? and may i know at what degree is the lordosis reduced ?
User :   xray
User :   I don't know, my family pract. just notified me
User :   not now, but she told me in July
User :   sorry, July the lordosis was diagnosed along with the cervical curvature loss and the fractured nose
Doctor :   well its not so simple, disappearenc / reduction of lordosis is a must to be diagnosed
Doctor :   as it will always be associated with disc slips
User :   I had no real symptoms except for back pain until october.
User :   She just said reduction of lordosis, not complete
Doctor :   i do not think , you have to confirm it by CT and notify the degree , as i said it could be coupled with disc slips , which can explain most of your symptoms you mentioned
User :   A doctor out here said the same to get a CT done
User :   especially because of my recent symptoms
User :   Thank you
Doctor :   yes, i too think the same , as you can not delay in neural issues
Doctor :   Also get a nerve conduction studies , since you have over active parasympathetic symptoms you may get some clue form it
Doctor :   and how was the diagnosis of the Orthostatic hypo tension done ?
User :   myself
User :   I get it often
Doctor :   What is the difference Pressure
Doctor :   and also Pulse pressure ?
User :   I never lose my balance, but I get extremely dizzy
User :   only once I fainted
User :   and that was back in october
Doctor :   dizziness could be due to many other causes, but orthostatic hypo is one which has to be ruled out well in spinal injuries
User :   I didn't check
User :   okay
Doctor :   May i know is your vision ok ?
User :   yeah, vision is great
User :   I had laser eye surgery back in 08' and its been fine
Doctor :   No i mean after accident
User :   it's been fine
Doctor :   this is to rule out autonomic nerves system functioning at the central level
User :   Can I have behavioral changes as well because of this?
User :   the accident
Doctor :   its very rare occurrence , only if you had an injury over the frontal lobe or a ring fracture at the base of the skull , such problems can be expected
User :   Yeah, I think it's just stress related
User :   I have my internal medicine exam on Weds
Doctor :   yes, it would be one commonly accepted cause
Doctor :   ans the sweating may also be due to the exam fear
User :   I get it monthly
User :   yeah
Doctor :   trust me we have gone through much worse during exams
User :   agreed
Doctor :   ok, i get it
User :   true enough
User :   I feel like I am going to go through exams for the rest of my life
Doctor :   lets consider the stress as a probable differential cause too
Doctor :   do not worry , gt your self clear by a CT scan , it will build up your confidence about your health and thus about the exam too
User :   sometimes med frustrates me, because no matter how much you think you know, there is so much you don't know.
Doctor :   its an ocean where we can drink not more than a bucket
User :   Okay, thanks Dr. This cleared many issues for me.
Doctor :   But i respect the proffesion a lot
User :   Well, that is what keeps me going. I can't see myself doing anything else.
Doctor :   ok, here it is , get the CT , measure the BP in diff positions , get the pupils checked , all these will clear your doubts
User :   Patients and patience is what gets me through the days sometimes.
User :   Thanks
Doctor :   You are welcome
User :   and nerve conduction?
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me , kindly provide the feedback
Doctor :   Yes, i am sorry , Nerve conduction studies too
User :   Of course:) Thanks for the insight, much appreciated:)
Doctor :   as i said , ( bucket )
User :   hehe
Doctor :   Best wishes for your course
Doctor :   enjoy meanwhile , do well in exams
Doctor :   Take care
User :   Thanks :) You as well
