Taking Beudocort and Levolin for cough and chest congestion. Can I continue the same medicines? - Online Doctor Chats
How can I help you today?
My son if 7 months is having cough and congestion from past 20 days. I have visited pediatrician twice and she administered Beudocort and Levolin for 3 days. And levolin for next few days until congestion is over. So, once the congestion was not visible, we stopped it. But, now we are seeing that the cough is back and he is having chest congestion. Can we still continue the same medicines?
He's 7 months old
And we are doing nebulization
Levolin can be given again if he has difficulty breathing
We can hear a noise from his chest when he's breathing
Beudocort is a steroidal medication and is usually employed as last resort to control symptoms of asthma
In that case give him levolin
Do we need to add any saline?
Is it fine coz he has cough from almost a month now
Regarding beudocort consult an asthma specialist before giving it
Thirdly try to find the trigger for the cough and avoid it
We had consulted our pediatrician.
The reason is that if it is an infection, then it may become worse with it
Yes dust and wind are usual triggers
And he's mostly imdoor
Exercise can also be a trigger sometimes
Regarding drinking water
And I have an elder son on 4 years. He gets cold frm school
give him water from an RO system
My baby who is suffering from cough is just 7 'months
In that case your younger kid should be kept away from older kid
Is there a need for saline mix for nebiulization?
give the dose according to their ages
Regarding saline, your doctor will be better able to tell
I think saline has to be mixed with medicine
Thats how the company precribes it
Thanks for consulting
