User :   by she i mean my motehr
User :   my siter has no problems
Doctor :   The more one is exposed to the source of infection, the higher the chances of infection.
User :   ok.
Doctor :   There are other factors such as low immune state, elderly individuals are more prone to get infected.
Doctor :   Hence if your mom has aged above 45 years, has other medical illness such as diabetes, asthma, and has frequent exposure to the infected individual, there are higher chance of her getting the infection.
User :   ok
User :   usually swine flu takes 5 days to be fine?
Doctor :   Swine flu is similar to any other viral flu.
Doctor :   In the sense, the infection is similar to a common cold.
Doctor :   The only difference is that they spread faster than other cold (to other exposed individuals)
Doctor :   and if the infected person has risk factors then they can cause life threatening problems.
Doctor :   Hence if your sister has no medical problems and the fever is not very high, she should be improving in 5 days.
User :   she has no fever...
User :   just cough and cold
User :   after 5 days we should get her tested again?
Doctor :   May I know if she is been diagnosed as having swine flu by throat swab?
User :   yes
Doctor :   Ok
User :   by throat swab
Doctor :   Ok.
User :   so after 5 days we need to get her tested again?
Doctor :   Swine flu without fever and no if your sister does not have any risk factors, she does not need any medications.
Doctor :   except for keeping isolated.
Doctor :   The symptoms would reduce in a weeks time.
User :   ok
Doctor :   However, watch out for symptoms such as high fever, severe/recurrent vomiting, breathing difficulties and so on.

User :   ok.
User :   she was having low "total count" a week back
Doctor :   Do you have any other query?

Doctor :   Please proceed.
User :   she has low platlet and total count a week back
User :   she was given medines
User :   and she recovered
User :   docter said she had viral
Doctor :   Ok
User :   is she at more risk since she is more weaker?
User :   and she also had jaundice some9 months back
Doctor :   yes, pancytopenia (low blood counts) is part of viral infection and it improves with good nutrition and as soon as the infection clears.
Doctor :   And if the counts were not very low and if the jaundice has improved presently,
Doctor :   the risk are low.
Doctor :   Continue watching for those symptoms and if the symptoms persist, repeating these test may be needed.
Doctor :   Follow with her treating doctor regularly till she recovers, good bed rest with good nutrition ,adequate hydration,
