User :   8 - 9 months
User :   no other symptoms
Doctor :   Did the X ray reveal spondolysis?
User :   but before i could do the MRI & X-ray my family dr told me to do a Mantoux test...and that showed that there was an infection

Doctor :   Did you take take the treatment for infection?
User :   no
User :   the doctor said it is not required
Doctor :   There could be many causes for swelling as bony enlargement, infection, nerve entrapement.
User :   but also on the back of my neck in the centre on the top there is a slight black mark
Doctor :   Is the swelling soft or hard, movable or immovable?
User :   i do not know how i got it as i did not hurt myself at that place
Doctor :   what is the nature of swelling?
User :   soft
Doctor :   movable or immovable?
User :   nothing moves when i touch the swelling
Doctor :   I will suggest you to get an FNAC done of the swelling to know its cause.
Doctor :   Since your Montaux test was positive it is required.
Doctor :   A Mantoux Test is a skin test which is used to test someone for signs of exposure to Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacterium which causes tuberculosis infection
User :   what is FNAC and how i take it forward
Doctor :   It is Fine needle Aspiration Cytology, in this a fine needle is inserted in the swelling and the fluid present inside is studied for the nature of infection present and also the bacteria causing it
Doctor :   You may also require A Chest X ray to see if the infection has spread else or not.
Doctor :   Generally antibiotic course helps in treating it.
User :   where would you suggest is the best place to do it and how much will it cost?
Doctor :   You need to revisit your doctor who will fill a form and then direct you accordingly
Doctor :   It depends on the lab which is doing
User :   ok
Doctor :   Ranging from 700 to 1000
User :   ok thank you very much
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me, bye for now
