User :   at lunch time i had fish today and i think i swallowed a fish bone

User :   its stuck in my throat

Doctor :   Can you elaborate on the symptoms you are suffering now?
User :   nothing much.. just feel that its there on the right side of my throat and have some discomfort while swallowing

User :   i tried swallowing rice that time itself.

User :   had banana after that .. small ones
User :   a cup of coffee in the evening

Doctor :   The fish bone which might be swallowed producing an injury in the throat which is producing discomfort now.
Doctor :   There are very low chances of having a fish bone struck in the throat as you could consume banana and coffee after that.

Doctor :   So it would be better to get examined by an ENT specialist for the throat examination and a X ray of the neck will be required to diagnose.
User :   till when should the discomfort be healed?
Doctor :   A course of antibiotics and some analgesics would be required.
Doctor :   It should take around 7 to 15 days according to the degree of the injury.
Doctor :   Meanwhile you can follow these measures: Doctor :   1. Consume boiled water

Doctor :   2. Salt water gargling 5 to 6 times a day. this will help in reducing edema of the throat if any present and will avoid superadded infections.
