User :   hi I am concerned I was deliberately infected with hiv
I have had a sinus infection for a long time
and I am confused if I am mixing syptoms up
Doctor :   hello
User :   hi
User :   thank you
Doctor :   can you tell me more in detail ?
Doctor :   what do you mean by delibrately infected ?
Doctor :   may i know your age ?
User :   ok I went to see a Dominatrix , (first time) she used a dido on me, I never looked at what she was doing ( i didnt want to) she told me she put a condom on it, I noticed that my butt was alittle torn when I got home , I got nervous and my mind has beguin t o wander quite a bit I started to think I noticed an injection near my anus I am not sure
Doctor :   so there was no sexual intercourse?
User :   none
User :   but I think she might have used a needle on me she was a nurse too
Doctor :   did you saw any needle in her hand?
User :   I think I might be carried away with it but I started to get weird symtoms
User :   no I saw nothing I never watched her at all
User :   I didnt want to look
Doctor :   well anal tears at times can look like like you had got a injection .
Doctor :   its highly unlikly she would do that
Doctor :   anyway how long back was it ?
Doctor :   how old are you
User :   this event happened 8/30/10
User :   44 yrs old
Doctor :   so about 18 days back?
User :   yes
User :   I got disconnected
User :   I clcik on consult and it brought me back thank God
Doctor :   its ok
Doctor :   no problem
Doctor :   so its been 18 days
User :   yes
Doctor :   do you have any other health problems ?
User :   no
User :   I have very sweaty palms
User :   feet
User :   no normal for me
User :   I had some hive like very very sporicid blotches
User :   that may have been related to nerves
Doctor :   well its very very rare that you have been infected by AIDS as it only happens when body fluid are exchanged, but like you said you suspect there was a needle BUT then again you are not sure too ...
User :   what are the odds I would develop a fever?
User :   and by when>
User :   ?
Doctor :   and for the HIV antibodies to show in your blood it takes minimum 8 weeks and the signs if any will take even longer
Doctor :   ysince when you having this fever?
Doctor :   since*
User :   I have no fever , I was wondering how early would I develop one if related to hiv infection
Doctor :   HIV does not have any symptoms of its own it just destroys your immune system
User :   I understand
Doctor :   and then any infection if you get can be life threatening
Doctor :   i would suggest you to get a rapid HIV test done
User :   what is the earliest I would develop a fever if I were infected?
Doctor :   that will clear all your doubts
User :   I ordered one online today
Doctor :   its not compulsory that you WILL have fever if you are infected . you can have any ilness
User :   ok
Doctor :   so fever is NOT sure shot way to say you have HIV
Doctor :   only a test can tell you
User :   ok
User :   but if I were to get a fever what would be the time frame for it?
Doctor :   i think the anal tears you got are giving you a sense as you got a injection
User :   well the injection place was different from the tear location
Doctor :   10 -11 months would be the time frame if you were positive
User :   I had a injecion look site apart from the tear
Doctor :   also it depends on the viral load
User :   if ijected it would be high and the symptoms therorically quicker?
Doctor :   no its nothing like that
User :   I am talking about symptoms for the intial hiv
Doctor :   either you get it via needle or sexual intercourse the time frame is the same
User :   what is the beginning infection time called?
Doctor :   like i said HIV infection will not cause any symptoms.... some people can go symptomless for years if your immune system is good
Doctor :   so it depends how healthy you are
Doctor :   and how long your body can fight it
User :   I read you get flue like symtoms usually 2-4 weeks after infection?
Doctor :   no its a myth
Doctor :   there is nothing like that
User :   it is all over the web
Doctor :   well i am giving you right medical advice
User :   swollen lympod nodes , fever , sore throat, rash ?
Doctor :   these are signs of what we call as full blown AIDS , and it can take years to develop
Doctor :   but if you immunity is very low and you are3 sick with some other infection then the HIV virus acts faster
Doctor :   still not in 2- 3 weeks
User :   i google it 1 second
User :   or do you know what they mistakenly call it?
User :   acute hiv
User :   acute hiv infection
Doctor :   i am very sure with the medical knowledge we have and its current up to date
Doctor :   acute HIV infection are seen in severely ill patients
User :   so when a person gets hiv, there is no 'acute hiv infection symptoms'?
Doctor :   no till the virus load increases and starts destroying your cells
Doctor :   it can take time depending on how strong is your immune system is
Doctor :   still it will take about 8- 10 months for symptoms to show in a average person
User :   ok so when the viral load intiiates the infection, the intial infection does not trigger any symtoms while the body waits to create antibodies?
Doctor :   yes that's true. so then the cell which gives you immunity and destroyed ... and then later if you get ANOTHER infection from any other cause... since the HIV virus had destroyed your immune cells
Doctor :   your body cant fight the new infection and then the symptoms appear
Doctor :   it like HIV kills the cells that protect you
User :   doesnt this happen intially before a person develops antibodies?
User :   and you get flu like symtops?
Doctor :   the process starts but its too slow
Doctor :   as the body does gives it a fight
User :   seems to be a ton of misinformation all over the web then
Doctor :   well that's why you have medical professionals
Doctor :   to guide you properly
User :   most websites talk quite abit about the acute hiv symtopms with in the first 2 -4 weeks after infection
User :   and then they go away for years
Doctor :   we are talking in normal human beings
User :   ?
Doctor :   usually HIV is common in drug addicts
User :   ok
Doctor :   whose immune is as it its low
Doctor :   thats why
