What was the size of the tumor
User :   I dont know.T2
Doctor :   Ok, T2 N2 MO is called stage 4 a classification

Doctor :
Usually the bilateral neck dissection is done
User :   I know all this.I want to know prognosis.I need to prepere for my wife
Doctor :
Usually the supraglottic cancers are of high grade variety
Doctor :
medicall we say the prognosis in terms of 5 year survival rates
Doctor :
I do not know if you have heard from your Doctor
User :   I cant ask him.My wife is always with me, and I dont want her upset.I am asking you please
Doctor :
The 5 year survival would be between 30 to 40%
Doctor :
If the surgical therapy and the neck dissection is done
Doctor :
the chances might slightly vary
User :   thought is was worse with extra capsular spread
Doctor :   Yeah

Doctor :
With extracapsular spread
User :   meaning?
Doctor :
The presence of extracapsular spread and regional lymph node metastases are the 2 most significant negative prognostic indicators in supraglottic cancer
Doctor :   These indicate a lower survival rate and a higher recurrence rate.
User :   SO i probably have about a year
Doctor :
High-grade tumors are also a factor associated with decreased survival.
Doctor :   I can only give you in percentages
Doctor :
as we discuss internally
User :   so 40% of five years is what?
Doctor :
from the time of diagnosis
Doctor :
is the 5 yr survival rate
User :   Do some people get cured at this stage
Doctor :
In fact to be more precise
Doctor :
you have to ask a Head and Neck surgeon
Doctor :   He might be of good help for you
User :   thank you.Take care
Doctor :
as he is experienced in famous institute of US
Doctor :   Is there anything else I can help you with?
