User:I'm having sores on my scalp along with dandruff
User:I have this since last 7 yrs..
User:now I can see that my hair is thinning and it does smell somtimes
Doctor:Have you seen a doctor?
User:Yeah..but he prescribe a dandruff shampoo (Tritop)
User:and I used it for 2 weeks, it was ok but the issue reappeared again

User:Yeah during that time of the usage
Doctor:Why did you stop using the shampoo after 2 weeks?
User:It was not meant to used for more that 2 weeks

Doctor:Dandruff is a common condition. But in a few cases, the dandruff flakes results in soreness, itching, rashes and skin lesions due to inflammatory response.
Doctor:Presence of associated condition along with dandruff issues is termed as seborrheic dermatitis.
Doctor:Without a clinical examination, it is difficult to predict if you have just dandruff (seborrhea) or the seborrheic dermatitis.
Doctor:Anyway the treatment involves use of topical antidandruff measures.
Doctor:I don't see any harm in you continuing the shampoo for long term
Doctor:since it has been effective.
Doctor:You may alternatively try cheaper brands such as nizoral or any other ketoconazole shampoo.
Doctor:You can shampoo every alternate days or once in 3 days.
Doctor:Hair thinning and fall is most likely secondary to dandruff.
Doctor:If symptoms don't improve with regular shampooing, you should consult the dermatologist again for detailed evaluation.
