Doctor:Hello again
Doctor:please tell me how I can be of help
User:Should I administer antihystamine?
Doctor:Yes you should
User:I have oral (pills). How many - 1 or 2?
Doctor:and from your description I feel you might also be having some infection
Doctor:it is best to take an antibiotic too
Doctor:you can take 1 right now
Doctor:and see how it goes
Doctor:which antihistamine do you have?
User:I'll have to renew Celebrex, and can bet antibiotic then.
Doctor:Celebrex is not an antibiotic
Doctor:it is for the pain
User:Equate Allergy Relief 25mg
Doctor:Can you tell me the generic name?
Doctor:is it cinnarazine?
User:She has two Celebrex left - need to re-fill. There is no antbiotic available.
Doctor:She can take the celebrex if she has pain, otherwise it is not needed
User:The Antihystamine is diphenhydramine XXXXXXX 25 mg
Doctor:Equate Allergy relief will work fine
Doctor:Yes, I just found out too
Doctor:She can take that antihistamine without any issues
Doctor:she might feel a bit drowsy
Doctor:that is expected
Doctor:as for the antibiotic, I would prefer something like cefixime(Generic name) 200 mg twice a day for 5 days
User:you need to go back and read what I sent you in its entirety so you understand her long-term issues. She must take the Celebrex for arthritis pain.
Doctor:If you can get your family doctor to prescribe that, it would be great
User:I'll get an appointment this afternoon.
Doctor:I did read the entire details my dear.. I am terribly sorry, if I sounded different
Doctor:She can take her celebrex,
Doctor:but once in while, if she does not have any pain she can skip it as well
User:She always has sever pain without it.
Doctor:Okay, in that case she does need to take them
Doctor:and as you rightly said, she will need a refill her
User:I feel that she had a bad reaction to the Tramadol, but she hasn't taken any for over a week and the Celebrex was resumed mid-week.
Doctor:Continue applying caladryl
User:I'm concerned that treatment for allergic reaction hasn't borne fruit.
Doctor:It is possible that she had a strong reaction to tramadol
User:I too am alergic to it!
Doctor:Please ask her to take the antihistamine
Doctor:that will take care of the allergy
Doctor:you can give Equate Allergy Relief 25mg, two to three times a day for 3 days
Doctor:I am advising an antibiotic because of the unusual presentation, generally the allergic reactions are widespread
Doctor:and the itching and rashes don't wax and wane
Doctor:and moreover the scratching leads to infection
Doctor:Hope this makes things clear
User:Ok. So we see the family doctor, refill the Celebrex, get cefiximine also, and administer allergy relief (1 or 2) three times daily for three days.
Doctor:Administer allergy relief 1 tablet thrice a day for 3 days
Doctor:It is good that you are consulting with her doctor
User:Thanks. How can I print this conversation?
Doctor:a physical exam will tell us if there is indeed any infection
Doctor:if there is no infection then she does not need the cefixime
Doctor:You can print this conversation by copying the entire text onto a word document
Doctor:otherwise you can click on "see chat history", copy the contents from there and then paste it in a word document or onto word pad
User:For future reference, what is the cefiximine similar to?
Doctor:from there you can print it just like any other document
User:Thanks for the print help, too.
Doctor:Cefixime is similar to penicillin or amoxycillin
Doctor:only better and in tablet form
User:Ah. Great to know. I'm allergic to p-cillin. Is this a good substitute?
Doctor:Cefixime is a third generation cephalosporin antibiotic
Doctor:If you are allergic to penicillin, then it is best to avoid cefixime for her as well
Doctor:You can give her azithromycin or Ciprofloxacin
User:Hey, thanks for your help. I've got you guys in my Favorites under Health.
Doctor:You are most welcome,
Doctor:I apologize for the inconvenience due to technical issues
Doctor:It was my pleasure helping you with your questions
User:Caca Pasa! Have a nice rest of the week and happ valentine's day!
Doctor:Thank you so much, happy Valentine's day to you too
Doctor:Have a great day ahead
Doctor:take care
