Doctor:How can I help you?
User:i need to what food precaution need to take in Gout
User:what to eat and what not to eat?
Doctor:As you would know gout is caused due to deposition of uric acid crystals into the joints.
Doctor:This occurs due to deficiency of enzyme which normally transforms uric acid into harmless substance.
Doctor:Now every protein and high calorie food you take gets transformed to uric acid more an more.
Doctor:Therefore we recommend all patients with gout to restrict high protein intake, high calorie (sweet) and saturated fat intake.

Doctor:You can choose from whole grain chapati/roti, high fibre fruits and vegetables, low fat milk can be taken.
Doctor:Non vegetarian diet are XXXXXXX in both proteins and purines which can increase uric acid levels.
Doctor:Therefore the use of non vegetarian food needs to be restricted.
Doctor:If the uric acid levels are very high, the non vegetarian diet and other food products which I mentioned have to be stopped for a few days.
Doctor:Yes, all non vegetarian diet are protein XXXXXXX and purine XXXXXXX
Doctor:Both effect the levels of uric acid.
Doctor:Depending on your uric acid levels, you can decide how much non vegetarian diet can be consumed.
User:fish also not allowed?
Doctor:I only meant that your diet should not be only non vegetarian food.
User:thats ok
Doctor:Your uric acid levels are the ones which will decide how much of non vegetarian diet you can take.
