My Father is a Patient of Diabetic Nephropathy and currentle is under Dialysis , Sir want to know Is a kidney transplant possible at the age of 56 , Blood Group AB+ ,and is he a Universal Acceptor ,when it comes to kidney Transplant ? Pls Guide..

Doctor :   there needs to Human Leucocyte antigen matching as well
Doctor :   HLA are antigens that are recognised by the WBCs that are involved in transplant acceptance and rejection
Doctor :   if HLA is not matched the chances of rejection are very high
User :   but In my FAmily no one has a matching blood gp but can we initate the transplant process and donate the kidnet if HLA is matched
