User :   She has taken treatment but the relief was for only 3 months
Doctor :   can u mention the pills shes taken?
User :   Now she is takinf 2 neksium 40 and neopride daily but that also seems to be ineffective
User :   I don't know the name but its standard combination of antibiotics designed for H-Pylori
Doctor :   i would advise her to take HP kit AVAILABLE OTC in the pharymacy for 4 weeks
User :   She had taken for 2 weeks as per doctor's advice
Doctor :   this kit contains an antibiotic thats taken for 2 weeks
Doctor :   but i dont think u had taken the HP KIT
User :   yes she had taken the H
User :   Yes it was the HP kit
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   how long did you take it ?
User :   2 weeks
User :   It was quite strong and also made her quite sick when she was takinf it but doctor had already told us about that
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   I think, she can take a similar regimen , but with altered medications, for another 4 weeks
Doctor :   If it does not solve the issue, the patient may need a GI endoscopy to see whats going on inside the esophagus
User :   do you think symptoms can persist even if the bacteria is eradicated
Doctor :   and also an barium study of the upper GI, to know if there is any laxity of the esophagus
Doctor :   no, if the infection is associated with any other anatomic condition, like reguritation, GERD, then the symptoms may not receed even ofter treatment for HP bacteria
User :   what is laxity of esophagus
Doctor :   where the the lower esophagus, is relaxed, and the stomach contents regurgitate and cause severe gastritis like symptoms
User :   Is there any treatment for that
Doctor :   yes, but before the condition needs to be diagnosed
Doctor :   once the condition is confirmed a minor surgery can be done to correct the esophageal laxity
User :   After series of endoscopy GERD or some valve related defect was ruled out
Doctor :   was endoscopy done before ?
Doctor :   and what about barium swallow study?
User :   Yes it was before treatment, Barium swallow study has not been done
Doctor :   At this moment, i will advice, you to take antacids like mucaine gel 3 tsp daily with foods
Doctor :   and then take the HP kit (altered configuration) for 4 weeks
User :   Does she need another test to check if bacteria still persists
Doctor :   the kit contains a antibiotic, a PPI , and another drug which releieves the infections
Doctor :   no, finish another course and then do the test again
User :   Altered configuration would be suggested by Gastroentrologist?
Doctor :   yes
User :   thanks doctor
Doctor :   or a Experienced GP
Doctor :   u are welcome
