User :   Hello, I was wondering about something to see if its abnormal or not. Last few days when I lay down to sleep and get to a relaxing point, I feel a sudden rush of like (shock) or rush of like quick increase in BP and it goes away in a split of a second. Is this normal?

User :   Just laying down and suddenly it feels like it runs through my body to my head. I dont feel bad or anything. It goes away that quick.
User :   Only happens when I lay down to go to sleep.

User :   Once this morning..couple of times the other day. Is it stress or anxiety??
Doctor :   Did you check your Blood pressure?
User :   Blood pressue is controlled. Had an ablation for afib back in july of 2010.
User :   NO, my machine is broke.
Doctor :   Do you have any other symptoms ?
User :   Not really, just some lateral chest pain on both sides. COugh some??
Doctor :   Once an episode has no relation with a disease process, you can relate it with stress or anxiety.
User :   It just started happening just over a few days when Im falling asleep. Should I be worried??
Doctor :   I think you should not be worried
User :   OK, well its like your body is not wanting you to fall asleep
Doctor :   Right, you can practise to take a swim or walk before you go to bed, so that you are tired and go into sleep faster
Doctor :   Same time any stress or anxiety can be controlled
User :   well im a paramedic and I work all night. Just got off work and tried laying down and suddenly it was more like a burst of energy or release of adreline for just a second.
Doctor :   Any episode of seizueres earlier?
User :   no, body just feels heavy right now. slight headache
Doctor :   You can just take an over the counter pain killer
Doctor :   and go to sleep
Doctor :   I do not find any signs of serious attack for you

User :   yeah, just didnt know if I need to see a doctor

Doctor :   1) Severe headache, over 8/10
Doctor :   2) Dizziness with blurring of vision
Doctor :   3) Weakness of limbs and problem with gait
Doctor :   4) Measuring blood pressure, over 160/110mm Hg
User :   Headache is like a 2. Been sneezing alot. Very mild dizziness at times but only when Im awake and do things, but very very seldom and I do have numbess or tingling in the left thigh and left arm sometimes but I have had it for years. Have some back problems.
