Doctor :   Hi
User :   hello
Doctor :
Doctor :   How may i help you?
User :   Strep throat questions.
Doctor :   Sure please go ahead
Doctor :   It seems you have moved out of the chat window. Please log in back if you have medical queries
User :   I'm back
Doctor :   Yes tell me
Doctor :   Are you there ?
User :   Anyway, I've had bad strep since sunday or so, fever going up to 102 F, couldn't really eat because of the pain. I went to the doctor on monday and he gave me Amoxicillin and some spray. I started the therapy, vomited at first, probably out of stress but took the antibiotics normally for two days. Yesterday and today I have felt even worse: spitting pus at all time, fever got to 103.7 once and throat and tonsils covered with nasty patches and spots of white pus.
Doctor :   may i know your age and gender please ?
User :   I felt the antibiotic was doing nothing, so I went to the doctor today and he immidietly gave me a strep shot. He said it would cure me in no time.
User :   22,Male
Doctor :   How are you feeling now?
Doctor :   It seems you have moved out of the chat window. Please log in back if you have medical queries
Doctor :   Hell
User :   Finally. I had to pay again, ugh.
Doctor :   Hello
Doctor :   well i am here to answer all your queries
User :   I'm the same guy as before.
Doctor :   to begin with, well how are you feeling now after the shot ?
Doctor :   yes i remember
User :   The same. It was given to me about an hour and a half ago.
User :   How long till it works SOMETHING?
Doctor :   Ok also i have to stress on the fact that you have to take the antibiotic course for the full duration of the time
User :   I know.
User :   Thanks.
Doctor :   thats very important
Doctor :   let me tell you few things that you can do now to ease you
User :   Please hurry the page is changing again.
Doctor :   to begin with
Doctor :   1) Drink warm liquids. Honey or lemon tea
User :   By the way, I currently have a 103.5 fever, but don't feel too bad.
User :   Ok.
Doctor :   2) Gargle several times a day with warm salt water (1/2 tsp of salt in 1 cup water).
User :   Ok.
Doctor :   3) Suck on popsicles to soothe the sore throat.
Doctor :   4) Use a cool-mist vaporizer or humidifier to moisten and soothe a dry and painful throat
User :   Are you sure, cuz Ive done most of these "suggestions" and they do less than nothing.
Doctor :   for you fever take TYLENOL 500 MG 2 times a day
User :   I'm taking Panadol 8 times a day.
Doctor :   i will be honest with you , antibiotics is the only way you can cure it completely , and the things i am telling you will help you feel better, i know you are in pain but our aim right now is to ease it TILL the antibiotics do the work
Doctor :   i will suggest you that after you recover you MUST change your toothbrush
User :   I know sir.
Doctor :   Do you have any difficulty swallowing
User :   Yes.
User :   hurts like hell and back
Doctor :   After starting the medication, the fever usually improves in 24 hours. By the second or third day, other symptoms start to subside.
User :   haven't eaten in a day
Doctor :   Have liquids like fruits juice
User :   Even WITH the shot?
Doctor :   it should work faster
User :   I'm starting to think this will never stop! AAAAH
Doctor :   its only been an hour and half
Doctor :   Please be patient
User :   So i don't have to eat.
Doctor :   Take juice for the moment that way you are hydrated and also you have calories inside you
User :   When I poop, only yellowish-brown liquid funnels from my anus.
Doctor :   avoid caffeine
User :   Stools, or something.
Doctor :   since when have you noticed that?
User :   Yesterday.
Doctor :   Drinking enough fluids is very important. When it is hard to drink, it is important to decrease your body's requirements for fluid through rest and lowering any fever that is present. Choose high-quality fluids such as soup broth
User :   Because I haven't eaten.
Doctor :   Well dont worry about that much as antibiotics are known to cause such side effects
Doctor :   You need to be just patient i can ASSURE you that you will be fine once the medications start having their effects
User :   Is there any way that this stuff wont go away even with all the treatment?
Doctor :   as per as the protocol goes i will advice you that you need to see a ER doc IF you have the following symptoms
Doctor :   1) Difficulty breathing
Doctor :   2) Unable to swallow saliva
Doctor :   3) Making a noise during breathing
Doctor :   4) Bleeding in the throat
Doctor :   5) Swelling of the neck
User :   Excessive bleeding, or just a bit?
Doctor :   and severe pain that you cant tolerate ?
Doctor :   have you noticed any bleed ?
User :   I bled a tiny spot cuz I did the thing when you get a noogie out.
User :   The rasping thing.
Doctor :   Ok if that is so that you need to please be going to the ER
Doctor :   and get it examined
User :   What?
Doctor :   Go to the hospital if you can
Doctor :   As you have complained of intense pain and now a minor blood
User :   But I've bled like that before when I rasp my throat.
User :   nd I wasn't sick.
Doctor :   Its better you get a endoscopy done
User :   Great.
User :   I'm not bleeding anymore, though.
User :   Nor can I see blood.
User :   O taste.
Doctor :   Ok then since its been only just one and half hour
Doctor :   so wait for 2 hours
User :   Ok...
Doctor :   and if you dont see any change
User :   What could be wrong?
Doctor :   IT can be a severe infection
