User :   I've been taking alot of pain killers and anti depressants but have stopped for 2 weeks - when would it be safe to try for a baby?

User :   i'm 29 been on the anti-depressants since sept 2009 and it was for back,pelvis pain and suspected ms
User :   still under a neuro for the ms
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   Which anti-depressants are you using and their dosages ?
User :   on deluxotine
User :   1 a day
User :   not sure the dose
User :   was on tramadol and paracetamol, tablets for vertigo and tablets for pain in my hips
Doctor :   Tramadol and Paracetamol do not cause any side effects and can be safely used even during pregnancy, But,
Doctor :   Fluoxetine(deluxotine ) has been associated with PPHN( Pre partum Hypertension) when taken during the last half of pregnancy.
User :   i've been told by my gp too stop all of them so not been on any for 2 weeks
Doctor :   And as you have already stopped using the drug, You can safely start and go ahead for being pregnant.
Doctor :   1-2 weeks time is sufficient and safe period.
User :   he didn't say i could still take the tramadol and paracetamol is that safe then?
Doctor :   I agree with your Doctor , if you can stay healthy and maintain good health without medication , It would be Best for the Baby in the first trimester.
User :   ah ok, i am in alot of pain with my back feel abit of a pain bugging my gp all the time as i know having a baby is something that could wait
Doctor :   I totally agree with you, Being pregnant is a big challenge to the mother, causing lot of physical stress and sometimes PP Hypertension, PP Blood sugar , and Back pains.
Doctor :   If you can get well soon and your back pain heals I think pregnancy will be a happy affair for you and the baby.
Doctor :   So , please give time ti yourself, heal fast , take lot of bed rest and then you can go ahead.
