User:here what i mean is sour taste means exact opposite taste of sweet...
User:i am not sure i explained the problem or not but this is the case
Doctor:Does she have any other medical illness such as diabetes, high blood pressure, sinusitis, frequent nasal congestion, thyroid problems, etc?
User:she don't have diabetes, high blood pressure... recently some 2 months back she was gone through these two checks
Doctor:Is she on any regular medications?
User:i even don't know what sinusitis, congestion means...
User:and she has a problem with inhaling some times so she uses inhaling drops frequently at bed time
User:and we did not check thyroid check ?
Doctor:Let me brief you.
Doctor:However since you mentioned, she uses some drops (nasal drops), I presume she has some running nose/blocked nose or sinus problems.
Doctor:In the presence of nasal condition such as sinus problems, allergic rhinnitis, nasal polyps or any other nasal infection
Doctor:one can experience such taste disturbances.
Doctor:Similarly a person who suffers from gastritis/reflux esophagitis, bitter taste can be associated complaint.
Doctor:Rarely, salivary gland infection/stones in the salivary duct can produce similar symptoms.
Doctor:Hence, though your mother doesn't have a serious pathology, she needs evaluation to determine the cause.
Doctor:Once the pre-existing cause is determined, treating it will relieve her symptoms.
User:ok... just googled congestion means related to heart... and recently we checked ecg also which is also fine.
Doctor:Nasal congestion - refers to blocked nose or simply stuffy nose.
Doctor:Heart congestion - or congestive heart failure is what you found on google.
Doctor:Do not be worried.
Doctor:Your mother doesn't suffer a serious medical illness.
Doctor:She can visit an ENT surgeon to confirm if she has a nasal problem and gastric problem.
Doctor:Treating the cause can be not that difficult; and she should feel better after the treatment.
Doctor:If I am not clear, can I explain this over a phone call.
User:ooh thank you very much doctor... so finally
User:problem is filtered to two things nasal/gastric
Doctor:I think we can discuss this better over phone.
User:sure doctor
