I am a massage therapist who performs 16 massage a week. 3 days ago my hands, thumbs and wrists were getting sore. Yesterday i felt a "pulling" or an "electrical" sensation when my right hand is in a particular movement or position. The pain is in my hand and the sensation is down my right thumb on side. I have been icing it. I feel like if i go to the dr they will just tell me to rest, ice, elevate how long should i rest? should i see a dr?
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Let me read your query
User :   hello
Doctor :   Rest should be usually for 48 hours
User :   okay.
Doctor :   Rest and icing usually helps if you are hurt and if there is obvious swelling
User :   no swelling
Doctor :   The electrical sensations are nerve related and they may not help much with icing
User :   just aches and weird electrical sensation
Doctor :   But ofcourse rest is important
User :   okay
User :   i will rest it for 48 and see if its better
Doctor :   Yes wear a wrist band
Doctor :   and see that the band covers your thumb joint
User :   if it does feel better do you recommend me doing massages on tue
Doctor :   that is how you should exactly rest
Doctor :   If it gets better I suggest you to rest 48 hours
Doctor :   another*
Doctor :   If it does not, you should see a doctor for examination
User :   okay thank you so much
User :   be well
Doctor :   Do you have any more questions?
Doctor :   Did you follow?
Doctor :   Thank you for consulting me
Doctor :   Bye
