Doctor :   Hi
User :   hello
Doctor :
How can I help you?
User :   i would like to ask because i have a sliiped disc
Doctor :
Ok
Doctor :
Please proceed.
User :   and just yesterday the right side upper of my thigh became super painful and a little bit swollen if you touch it its like a bone bulge pout
Doctor :
Ok
Doctor :
If I recollect, you have multiple disc bulges at L3-L4, L4-L5 and S1 Nerve indenatation right.
Doctor :
Are you there?
User :   yes
Doctor :
I have checked with your previous chat and have noticed the findings.
User :   i was trying to send all my result but i dont know whats wrong with yahoo
Doctor :   That is fine.
User :   i dont know how to send my results to you in another way
Doctor :
Can you describe more about the pain.
User :   ill type the exact MRI
Doctor :
Is the pain located infront of the the thigh or the back of the thigh?
User :   at the outer side
User :   right side
Doctor :
Do you have any difficulty in walking?
User :   i can walk but its painful
Doctor :
Do you have reduced senses in the same area?
Doctor :
Are you injured?
User :   yes more numbness
User :   and when having bowel movement super extremely painful
User :   no never had a car accident ever
Doctor :
Have you checked with a spine surgeon or neurosurgeon?
User :   in a few hour
Doctor :
Do you have any problems with urination?
User :   can anesthisia cause slipped disc
User :   with urinatiuon theres a certain possition before i can urinate
Doctor :   Slipped disc occurs due to strain on the back, because of either injury, bad posture or while lifting heavy objects and not due to anaesthesia.
User :   ok
Doctor :
Do you have difficulty in passing urine or inability to void urine?
User :   if i try to tighten or muscle contraction in the annus i cannot anymore
User :   what does it mean?
User :   no i can urinate but in a certain position
Doctor :
Ok.
Doctor :
I shall explain it to you.
Doctor :
An examination will tell in you in detail the exact cause for the pain.
User :   but with passing stool especially if the stool is in the annus its super painful
Doctor :
But according to the history that you have given, part of your symptoms may be psychological too.
User :   how come psychological?
Doctor :   Since your MRI features and your symptoms do not match.
User :   what are the ones that doesnt match?
User :   i also have moderate hydronephrosis of the right kidney, gallbladder stones, prominent right ovary
Doctor :   Nerve root compression of S1 causes pain mainly in the back of the thigh and lower down in the calf.
Doctor :
That is the only mismatch I can see.
Doctor :
But since you are getting an examination done,
Doctor :
It would give a doctor a clear picture.
Doctor :
Hence I suggest you to get the examination, done.
User :   i have super sensitivity with anything cold that touches my both legs
Doctor :   Are you on bed rest as suggested by the doctors in the previous chat?
User :   yes but not all day
Doctor :   Please continue with the bed rest till you have been examined by the doctors.
User :   ok
Doctor :
The further need for rest would be suggested only after an examination.
User :   what are the risk of slipped disc?
Doctor :
Bed rest would prevent from the symptoms from aggravating.
Doctor :
Slipped disc is not going to cause problem if it is treated appropriately.
Doctor :
Only when not treated appropriately, they can cause problems such as weakness or worse paralysis.
Doctor :
So right now you are not in the state of complication, as you mentioned that you do not have weakness.
Doctor :
Hence relax for a while, till you see the doctor for the examination.
User :   L5-S1 there is a central and left paracentral disc protrusion abutting the traversing left S1 nerve root
Doctor :
It would make you feel better.
Doctor :   May I know when this scan was done?
User :   mild L3-L4 and L4-L5 disc bulges mildly compressing the thecal sac
User :   Nov. 24 2009
User :   i overlooked one of your message, yes i have weakness especially my right knee
Doctor :   Since your symptoms have worsened since then, you may be asked to take a repeat scan, if necessary.
Doctor :
The repeat scan would give a better idea of how the management would be.
Doctor :
The plan of management would be
Doctor :
1. Bed rest
Doctor :
2. Back strenghthening exercise
Doctor :
3. Physiotherapy which can include exercise to strenghten the back, heat therapy.
Doctor :
4. Pain killers
Doctor :
5. Lastly surgery.
User :   i already went to a psychiotherapy doctor they dont want to accept me anym ore because they said that theraphy cannot help my condition anymore
Doctor :   The priority of the treatment, if it is medical, surgical or therapy would be decided after the examination and the scans.
User :   ok
Doctor :
Since you mentioned that you have to undergo the evaluation very soon,
Doctor :   It is better to be calm.
Doctor :
Though I clearly understand
User :   yes thank you very much doctor ill be getting ready to go to the nuerosurgeon
Doctor :
the situation you are in.
User :   thank you very much
Doctor :   Get back to us following the evaluation and we would guide you further if you have any further queries.
