User :   My girlfriend got the flu shot today around 8 pm and she started coughing since then and she feels she cannot swallow
User :   she feels some pain on her chest
User :   she is not allergic to eggs
Doctor :   Was she having any symptoms from before? Also may i know her age?

User :   is the first time she gets the flu shot
User :   she feels like something is stuck in her throat
Doctor :   Other than coughing and swallowing does she have any other symptoms like fever? is the cough dry or productive? Did she have the symptoms immediately after the shot?
User :   no fever and dry coughing
Doctor :   Flu shot does have side effects like fever, runny nose, headache, wheezing, abdominal pain in adults
Doctor :   These symptoms usually remain for 1 to 2 days.
User :   what can she do?
User :   cold medicine?
Doctor :   But if there are any allergic reactions and if symptoms persist even after 3 days then you need to get her examined.
Doctor :   1)Ask her to take Benadryl Syrup 1 tbsp twice daily.
User :   non-drowsy
Doctor :   2)For cold she can take Actidil Capsules
User :   she has been eating halls and she feel better
User :   Do i need a prescription for Actidil?
Doctor :   Then she can go for Sudafed or Claritin syrup. But some amount of drowsiness is there in cough supressants
Doctor :   She can continue with halls. Noneed for prescription
Doctor :   3)Give her steam inhalation 3 times a day after adding Vicks in it.
Doctor :   4)Take adequate rest.
