Doctor :   Hi,
User :   i don't know if you remember me form the other day, the lady with the whezzing and tight chest for 2 years?
Doctor :   Shal i have a look at the previous chat histories , if you can lend me some time
User :   please
Doctor :   Yes, i have gone through now
Doctor :   please proceed
User :   i stopped atenelol although i had done so before for a couple of months and went on digoxin, this time i am taking nothing and i am using simbicourt 2 puffs 2x a day and ventolin when it gets really tight, honestly it doesn't do very much, i still have tightness and i still wheeze with both meds. The simbicourt i have been using for 5 weeks
User :   i don't know what else to do, my dr. has been very patient ordering every test possible but i see him once every month or 6 weeks in the mean time i am suffering and don't know what to do
Doctor :   As i said last time , since you were on atenolol for very long time , it my need more time to get the effects of atenolol to clear after stopping
User :   more than a couple of months?
Doctor :   yes, for sure
Doctor :   but surely this will help
Doctor :   your time is extended
Doctor :   please continue
Doctor :   I mean your chat time is extended
User :   when i questioned him about atenelol, he told me "you have been taking it for years that's not your probelm" he didn't want to consider the idea that it could be the atenelol, he said this ususally only happens with asthmatics is this true, please bare with me i am not questioining our expertise, but i need to know what im doing make sense
User :   are the medicines that i am using what you meant the other day about sympathomimetics and mast cell .......
Doctor :   I am sure of it , i do know that atenolol is a cardioselective sympatholytic ( beta blocker ) ,considering very less action on lungs
Doctor :   but i have seen in my experience
Doctor :   that people on long term atenolol have come with larger airway problems and wheez
Doctor :   and it has helped them once took off from atenolol
Doctor :   this is called sensitisation by long term stimulus
Doctor :   atenolol on long term starts sensitizing the lung musculature leading to constriction of the airways
Doctor :   and i want to mention that it is more subjective
User :   your kidding, what do you mean more subjective
Doctor :   i am sorry i mean the basic pathology of the lungs could be a trigger sometimes
User :   what is your specialization, how come you seem to know so much
Doctor :   like as you doc said , yes asthmatics do have early sensitization
User :   what about the medicines i am on
Doctor :   I am a GP , i have 8 years of experience in emergency medicine
User :   If this works and you are right, i owe you big time, please cross your fingures for me, as for the medicine i nedd what do you think is good
Doctor :   have met with patients with sideeffects of sympatomimetic often, hence and i have done a study on the cardioselective beta blockers
Doctor :   yes, i do hope and assure you the same
User :   where can i read your study
User :   and tell me if the simbicourt and ventalin are the right medicines
Doctor :   its a paper work, i can mail you after discussing with the authorities
User :   where are you situated
Doctor :   India
User :   i would love that and will pay you for your time
User :   that's why you can think outside the box
User :   here our dr.s are a little rigid
User :   please e-mail me if you are able to send me the paper
Doctor :   I am sorry , i am not against them , every body has there own explanations to convince
User :   no i understand but right now i am against them
Doctor :   sure , i will try to mail
User :   can u please tell me if the simbisourt and the ventolin are the right medicines to use?
Doctor :   Ventlain is salbutomol
Doctor :   they do help but they are not strong enough to correct a severe broncho constriction
User :   yes it is
User :   what should i use
Doctor :   i think you can continue on them
User :   even if they do not help
Doctor :   just monitor your pulse rate when on it
User :   the spasms come and go on their own throught the day
Doctor :   There are better drugs than that, i am sorry
Doctor :   i could not prescribe you online
Doctor :   they are sch H drugs and need written prescription
User :   my resting pulse is high anyway because of tachycardia, my resting pulse is about 95
User :   i know you cannot perscribe but do you have suggestions i can ask my dr to erscibe to me
Doctor :   ok, thats not a problem
User :   thank you
Doctor :   You are welcome
User :   i will let you know what happens
