User :   what about damage of the esopahgus or caNCER OR THROAT PROBLEMS?
Doctor :   Cancer is not possible in your age. Throat problems are those of irritation which are life threatening. Esophagus can have ulcers which heal perfectly well with drugs.

Doctor :   Only soreness which comes down if Reflux is treated, even if reflux is not treated, the isoreness is troubling or irritating but not life threatening
