User :   hi
Doctor :   How can I help you?
User :   i have some questions about a semen analyis test
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Please proceed with your query.
User :   i got one done and it has reported low sperm count
User :   motility is fine 55%
User :   18% are normal sperms
User :   count is 7mil
Doctor :   Per ml?
User :   I took the sample at home and gave it to a nearby diagnostic centre
User :   ye
User :   s
Doctor :   Ok
User :   it took me 20-25min to reach that place
Doctor :   Did they mention 7 million per ml or for the whole sample?
User :   and on the report they say that they tested it after 45min of receiving the sample
User :   7mil per ml
User :   total 31.5 mil/ml and sample size was 4.5 ml
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   That is low sperm count then.
User :   ok understand that
User :   I have read that this test is usually not easy to do and the results could misrepresent the truth
User :   also given that it was tested more than an hour after the sample...would that have impacted the results?
Doctor :   Not really as this is a common practice
User :   should it not be tested within 30min of sample?
User :   is this a conclusive test? or can I get it done again in the next week or two
User :   i was on medication @livoset for cold for a few days before the test
Doctor :   I suggest that you get it done again after 3 days of complete abstinence from sex or masturbation.
User :   that is what i did in this case
User :   my question is whether I can get it done immmediately
User :   i mean after 3days of abstinence
User :   are you there?
Doctor :   Yes
Doctor :   as I am chatting with some patients simultaneously. Please bear with us for a reply
User :   ok
User :   ok
Doctor :   Thanks for bearing with us
Doctor :   The time of the samplke has no effect
Doctor :   on the copunt
Doctor :   30 min is a short time
Doctor :   As you have given the sample within then and it was tested immediately
User :   pls read my earlier point.
Doctor :   Cetrizine has no effect
Doctor :   on sperm count
User :   i took to 25 min to transport the sample from home to hospital and then they tested it 45min after that
Doctor :   that is fine, as it is a common practice to collect the sample from home
Doctor :   It has no effect on the count.
Doctor :   What I mean is that you gave a fresh sample.
User :   my understanding is that the sample needs to be tested within a certain period of time 30-60min...
Doctor :   Early morning samples are usually collected.
User :   can the diagnostic centre make mistakes with this test? is that also common
Doctor :   e.g a sample at 6 am is tested at 8-9 am
Doctor :   Not really
Doctor :   If you are in doubt
Doctor :   then you can get it done again.
User :   ?
Doctor :   But The chances for a mistake in the test are usually rare
Doctor :   Is there any thing else that I could help you with?
Doctor :   Please fill the feedback form say done when done
Doctor :   Are you there?
User :   hello
Doctor :   Yes
Doctor :   Is there any thing else that I could help you with?
Doctor :   Are you there ?
User :   so what is the conclusion
Doctor :   The conclusion is that the test result being not done properly is very rare.
Doctor :   Your sample is good.
Doctor :   You can get the test repeated if you are in doubt.
