User : i went to the doctor and he said i have rotator-cuff tendonitis inpimgement and i was wondering if i should practice basketball cuz i dont want to injure it more

Doctor : usually after the first injury and if the doctor diagnoses as rotator cuff injury
Doctor : Then the acute management is thus
Doctor : Apply ice to decrease swelling. Wrap the ice in a cloth to avoid freezing the skin.
Doctor : Medicines such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or naproxen sodium (Aleve) to relive pain
Doctor : Support the arm in a sling to rest the rotator cuff muscles. The sling may be taken off at night.
Doctor : and complete rest for 3 weeks
Doctor : in the sling
Doctor : later the follow up again with the doctor
User : so should i play basketball or no
Doctor : I would say no
Doctor : for sometime
Doctor : atleast for next 6 weeks
Doctor : and at the same time
User : ok i will tell the coach then

Doctor : you if you wanna play again
Doctor : You have to reach a physio
Doctor : who can give you exercises to perform

User : alright so i was messing around with my friend and i fell and bent my finger back and its been swollen and i cant extend it without severe pain. do u know what i did

User : its swollen not at the hand knuckle but at the middle one on my finger

User : yea its still really swollen and i have the pain when extending it outward

User : kind of i did when i first hurt it but its going away
User : but when i play softball and pitch, it gets even more swollen and its hard to bend it
Doctor : Didnt you ask the doctor when you last seen him for your rotatory cuff injury
User : i was going to but my mom was being stupid and came in with me and i dont want her knowing
Doctor : I feel there could be a crack in the bone as it is lasting too long.

User : i tried that but it didnt work, like my friends dad looked at it and he thought it was tendon damage but i dont know if that right
Doctor : The finger along with its neighbouring finger would be strapped to prevent the movement of this injured finger
Doctor : or it sometimes is put under plaster of paris
Doctor : for atleast 6 weeks
Doctor : the movement of that finger should be restricted that is the main thing to be noted here

User : ok but the only reason i havent is because i dont want to have surgery. i dont do needles so thats kind of holding me back
