User :   I am a 31 year old male and exactly one year ago I developed a very annoying sweating problem. Especially from the right armpit more so than the left. I have never been one to sweat hardly at all in my entire life. Even as a highschool and college athelete I never used to sweat much. But since last year it doesn't take much of anything for me to get huge armpit stains the size of a softball. And my butt sweats without mercy. I have never experienced anything like this before. It really has no pattern to it that i have noticed. Even if I laugh hard I will sweat like crazy. Even in cool rooms i can start sweating for no reason. At first i thought maybe i was going through some stress and it would go away, but its been like this for a year now. What would cause such a drastic change in me?
User :   I have no health conditions that i am aware of
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Dr XXX here

User :   no one else in my family has it

Doctor :   Sometimes hormonal disorders also lead to hyperhidrosis.
Doctor :   When was your thyroid levels checked?

Doctor :   I will suggest you to get a Brain MRI also done, sometimes Pituitary gland tumours also lead this.
Doctor :   Excessive Carbonated drinks are a cause of excessive sweating, reduce the intake of these.
Doctor :   Any medications have you used ever for sweating?
User :   i have not taken any medications
Doctor :   Anticholinergic medications are prescribed for excessive sweating but these are prescription medications, get your self examined by a dermatologist.
Doctor :   He may advise you these.
Doctor :   If the medications do not help only option left is Sympathectomy.
User :   Is the brain tumor a likely cause, thats very scary
Doctor :   The very basic explanation for excessive sweating is that a segment of the sympathetic nervous system is responsible for this presentation
Doctor :   No not likely but it is one reason for sweating.
Doctor :   Sympathetic nervous system is an autonomic part of nervous system on which we have no control.
Doctor :   For those who suffer from only armpit sweating a new procedure laser ablation has also come up.
Doctor :   Are you following what i have said?
Doctor :   Are you there?
User :   yes sir
User :   what in your opinion is the most likely cause you think?
User :   out of what you have told me
Doctor :   Since i am not observing and examining i cannot comment much but i think it can be because of excessive carbonated drink intake.
Doctor :   Reduce them and see if there is any change.
User :   ok
Doctor :   Since you do not have any other symptom.
User :   what other symptoms should i be looking out for if it were the gland
Doctor :   It could be your thyroids and other tests would not be in the normal range
Doctor :   And you may have symptoms like headache, nausea, weight loss etc
Doctor :   Do not be panicky and relax
User :   i will try
Doctor :   After thorough washing, applycornstarch and baking soda under arms. Wait for 25 minutes and then wash the mixture off with water. Baking soda has the ability to absorb excess moisture. Try this.
User :   ok, thank you
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting, bye for now
