User :   I have had elbow pain and weakness along with severe upper back pain for about 3 weeks. Had a cough which is now gone, but back & elbow pain persist. Back pain worsens at night. Valium doesn't help. Any ideas?
Doctor :   Hi,
Doctor :   Dr xxx here
User :   hello.
Doctor :   May i know your age and gender please ?
User :   female, age 45. I've always been in good high BP or cholesterol, moderately exercise regularly
Doctor :   Thanks for the information, have you tried any NSAIDS for the pain ?
User :   what are NSAIDS?
Doctor :   Pain Killers,
User :   ibuprofen, aleve
Doctor :   Only IBUPROFEN til now ?
User :   yes
User :   i was prescribed valium as a muscle relaxer and cough meds with codeine when I went to the ER last week
User :   cough is gone, the two helped me sleep!
Doctor :   Then i would suggest you to try another like Aceclofenac ointment
User :   is that OTC
Doctor :   those are good but with unacceptable side effects
Doctor :   i mean Valium and codiene
User :   I understood that.
Doctor :   yes Aceclofenac is an OTC for sure
User :   I've never heard of aceclofenac. Is there a more common name/form?
Doctor :   Apply the oint over the paining areas
Doctor :   yes, it is a common one, and helpful for the joint pains than IBUPROFEN
Doctor :   which helps in muscular pains
User :   Any idea why it's worse at night? Just the stress of the day? Tiredness?
Doctor :   i do consider the same,
Doctor :   and when the muscles relax the joints start paining
User :   Is there a particular OTC ointment you would recommend? I am desperate. I'm a teacher with 4 children...can't afford to be in so much pain
Doctor :   Hifenac gel
User :   I'm planning to schedule another visit with the doctor soon to see if they can find anything. Do you recommend a massage or something along those lines?
Doctor :   No, do not go for massage, it could worsen
Doctor :   But consul an orthopedician , it will be of good help
Doctor :   consult*
User :   Should I try the ointment on both my upper back and elbow?
Doctor :   Yes,
Doctor :   DO you write on boards ?
User :   Some, not much. I teach elementary art
Doctor :   ok,
Doctor :   Is there anything i can help you with ?
User :   back pain seems to be concentrated right in the middle, almost in the spine. not the surrounding muscles.
Doctor :   are you a right handed ?
User :   i'll try to find the ointment. not sure if i'll be able to. we're very limited...i'm overseas on a military base. yes, i'm right-handed. elbow pain is left arm
Doctor :   And is the pain in the right side ?
User :   left
Doctor :   ok,
Doctor :   try the ointment,
User :   will do. thanks.
Doctor :   you can directly ask for aceclofenac oint, rather than the brand name
User :   ok. hopefully i can find it.
Doctor :   Is there anything i can help ?
User :   i guess that's all for now. i'll try the ointment, then go back to the doctor if pain persists.
User :   thanks.
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me, kindly provide your feedback
Doctor :   Bye for now, take care,
Doctor :   have nice time
User :   you too.
