Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   Dr. XXXXXXXX here.
Doctor :   please proceed with your health query
User :   Hi, Doctor, My Eyes have been infected with some infection , eyes have turned red and watery...and prick inside
Doctor :   ok. since when you are having these symptoms?
User :   Since Yesterday early morning ....Not Sure if it is conjunctivitis, Only left eye is severly impacted , other might get into same state it seems
Doctor :   yes, it can easily spread to other eye. avoid use of same kercheif
Doctor :   and avoid touching your eyes
Doctor :   is there anyone else with similar symptoms in office or at home?
User :   I have used Ciplox, do you suggest any specific medication
Doctor :   was there any injury or history of foreign body in eye before this episode started?
User :   Yes, Entire family is impacted ....So need medication for a wider age range
Doctor :   do you mean to say that you are using Ciplox eye drops?
Doctor :   if yes then how many times a day have you used it?
User :   yes,
User :   3 times..yesterday and once today
Doctor :   ok. if the entire family in infected then it could be severe infection. I would suggest you to get all of you to be examined by an ophthalmologist
Doctor :   you might need to get a test done for the watering to identify teh organism
Doctor :   and teh appropriate eye drop to be used
Doctor :   is there any pus like discharge?
Doctor :   are the eyelid or margins of eyelids swollen?
User :   Nope Pus, But yes the eylids are swollen
User :   Can you suggest some of my eye has turned blood red
Doctor :   ok. then the eyelids could also be infected with possibleinfection of the meibomian glands too that line the margins
Doctor :   you will need to get yourself examined to rule out meibomian glands infection
Doctor :   as, meibomian glands infection will not respond to eyedrops
Doctor :   you will need prescription of eye ointment with dressing along with eye drops
Doctor :   to make the whole infection to get controled
Doctor :   have you followed what I have said?
User :   I do understand what you said, But any common tablets which help in such scenario
Doctor :   no, as I said, the infection will need to be controlled with prescription of eye ointment with dressing along with eye drops , you will need to visit an opthalmologist for eye examination
Doctor :   to decide on what needs to be prescribed for you and your family
Doctor :   and please use separate eye ointments and eye drops for each of you, else you will stand chances of getting reinfected
Doctor :   avoid using common things like towels, kerchiefs
User :   ok
Doctor :   wash hands before and after touching eye, avoid touching the eye
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   Just to inform you, The first member getting infected was my niece...about 5 yr old
User :   She is now completely Ok, post 2 days ...with Ciplox treatment , We were infected by her only ....
Doctor :   ok. if she is cured, then it means that the Ciplox worked for her.
User :   Yes, precisely ...How many times should we use that ?
Doctor :   since the drops have not yet given relief to you, it might mean that there is 'superinfection' by some other organism too
Doctor :   that is not responding to teh drops
Doctor :   the drops should be used about 4 times a day, 2 drops in each eye for adults, but if within 1 day the symptoms do not get controlled or the redness does come down
User :   It is only 1 day I have used it ....She was ok post 2 days
Doctor :   then an examination is necessary
Doctor :   she too will need minimum of 5 days use
Doctor :   to avoid recurrence of infection
Doctor :   and also to completely make teh infection go away
User :   Ok then , I will try that for today , and if no improvement till tomm, I will contact a Doc presonally
Doctor :   I would recommendthat if you do not see the redness and watering come down by evening, please visit an ophthalmologist in the evening itself
Doctor :   * recommend that
User :   ok..
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   I have entirely different query which is totally different unrelated to this topic , I can continue
User :   ?
Doctor :   yes, you can continue
Doctor :   are you there?
User :   Yes, I have a problem of loosing hair..since past many years now
User :   My scalp gets too much oily and that is causing dandruff problem also
Doctor :   ok. the hairloss is probably related to oily scalp and dandruff, once you treat these, the hairfall will be controlled.
Doctor :   how often do you wash your hair?
User :   Daily
Doctor :   ok. what shampoo do you use?
User :   And also please note that ..I have bald in front and back also
Doctor :   how much water do you drink per day?
Doctor :   does baldness run in your family, if yes, the it is genetic/hereditary.
User :   Their is no specific shampoo , We change it frequently,
Doctor :   how frequently do you change your shampoo? what are you using currently?
User :   Water qunatity I consume is very less
User :   My dad is partially Bald ,, But he balded at a very late age , may be post 45 or so
User :   I started balding pretty early age ..around 23 yrs , Now I am 30 yrs old , Yes But I have not taken any steps till now to fix/check that
Doctor :   how frequently do you change your shampoo? what are you using currently?
Doctor :   baldness if hereditary cannot stopped due to genes involved, but it can be delayed with proper hair care regime and diet supplements
Doctor :   are you there?
User :   Currently I am using Garnier for last six months ....A
Doctor :   ok.
User :   So how do you suggest to tackle this problem
Doctor :   I would recommend you to go ahead with an examination first to see if any other scalp problem is related , especially to rule out infection
Doctor :   further would be to follow haircare regime once infection is ruled out
User :   Also will the hair will regrow in the bald region , post the problems get fixed ?
Doctor :   the main cause for dandruff is infection- a fungal infection
Doctor :   there are claims that hair can be regrown, but no studies to prove teh efficacy
Doctor :   permanent solution to have hair in bald areas in hair transplant
Doctor :   in the meantime, after your examination and treatment for dandruff, you can follow these steps
Doctor :   1) wash hair with mild shampoo and wash off shampoo properly with warm water, as leaving behind the shampoo tends to suffocate hairfolicles
Doctor :   2) avoid being in dusty environment, use a cotton cloth to cover hair when outside home
User :   ok...
User :   What about Diet regime ?
Doctor :   3) once in a week use hairpack with AAAAAAA methi seeds, ritha and shikakai powder
Doctor :   4) have Tab Biotin forte 1 tablet daily for 2-3 months.
Doctor :   5) include 3 servings of fruits per day in diet in form of fruit salads and juices
Doctor :   6) include 3 servings of vegetable per day in diet, with atleast 1 serving as salad tossed with olive oil
Doctor :   7) avoid sweat and dirt accumulation for more than 1/2-1 hour time, they suffocate hairfollicles causing them to die soon and fall off
Doctor :   8) avaid rubbing hair dry with towel when wet, wetness in scalp makes them loose, and easy to get pulled off with vigorous rubbing
Doctor :   9) use mixture of castor oil, sesame oil and almond oil twice a week in ratio of 1:1:1, apply warm oil in gentle circular motion. it helps in increases blood supply and nutrition to hair folllicles
Doctor :   have you followed what i said?
