User :   I am a 30yr old female that has been suffering from many confusing symptoms since April 09 ( and unable to work). These are: Widespread myofascular pain, parastesis in the arms and legs, loss of balance/co-ordination, trouble speaking (words seem to get "stuck" or do not come out as I intended them to), blurred vision at times, feeling as though bugs are bitting me ( worse at night), bladder urgency/loss of bladder control at times, phlebitis in the legs, headache, tiredness, and my most recent symptom is feeling as though someone is taking a knife and running it up and down the veins in my legs. This is unbearable at times. My symptoms come and go, but seem to be arrgivated by heat, stress, and tiredness. All of my bloodwork has come back normal, A CT of my brain was normal, and an MRI of my neck was normal with inconsitancies due to patient motion artifact. Please help me, I want my life back...
User :   Hi
User :   hi
User :
Let me read it
User :   ok
User :   Oh

User :
Ok
User :
Has this been diagnosed?
User :   no
User :
Ok
User :   Nobody seems to know what to do
User :
Have you consulted a Neurologist?
User :   I am waiting to see one
User :   Ok

User :   The problem is the wait time in manitoba
User :
Ok
User :
This is a neurological case in most probability
User :
which is affecting your lower limbs
User :
interestingly CT scan has come normal
User :   I just don't know what to do.. what to ask..
User :   I would recommend you to get a specialist opinion on this

User :   This is a problem with the spinal functions
User :
which affects your legs
User :
mainly the sensations
User :   Do you think this may be MS?
User :   Multiple Sclerosis, you mean to say?

User :   yes
User :   It is not wise to jump into such conclusions

User :
as it is a speciality case
User :   I know. I am trying not to "self diagnose", but it is hard when you have been sick for such a long time
User :   What field do you practice in?
User :   Yes, I understand

User :
Though Multiple Sclerosis is a possibility
User :
I would not tell you that as the diagnosis
User :   I understand..
User :   It is just nice to have some insight
User :   My dr is not telling me anything because he is not 100% sure what we are dealing with
User :   Yes

User :   Do you know a lot about MRI's?
User :
The way to diagnose MS is cumbersome
User :
and usually involves ruling out other conditions
User :   Yes, that it is
User :   So, all the other tests have to be done

User :
It is mainly a clinical diagnosis, hence
User :
and requires a lot of expertise
User :   which brings us to the neurologist
User :   Correct

User :
I would suggest you to get our Neurologist opinion
User :
with a detailed explanation of your symptoms
User :
and the scan reports
User :   Do you know if it is possible for an ms lesion to present as a motion artifact on an MRI?
User :
Usually the tests are not conclusive in MS
User :
that is the problem
User :   I am worried about the MS because my grandmother had it
User :   MRI can reveal lesions, indicative of the myelin loss caused by multiple sclerosis, on your brain and spinal cord.
User :   However, these types of lesions can also be caused by other conditions, such as lupus or Lyme disease, so the presence of these lesions isn't definitive proof that you have multiple sclerosis.

User :   they have tested me several times for Lupus antibodies.. all negative
User :   Ok
User :
That is a cross reaction I wanted to mention
User :   I am just so frustrated..
User :   The risk of multiple sclerosis is higher for people who have a family history of the disease.
User :   You need not get frustrated

User :
You can get the list of provisional diagnoses
User :
from our Neurologist if you order for it
User :   Are you based out of the US?
User :   Yes, we are from India

User :   See, If I lived in the US, I gurantee that the would have figured this out already.. Our healthcare system is lacking in resources
User :   lol
User :   Ok

User :
Are you not comfortable with Indian doctors?
User :   what field do you practice medicine in?
User :
I am a General Physician
User :   User :
We do have neurologist
User :   I am just saying that the canadian healthcare system is lacking in resources
User :
who shall answer via mail
User :   I can get that by going onto the specialists opinion right?
User :   yes

User :   ok
User :   so is it usual for someone to present with such a broad spectrum of symptoms?
User :   yes, in Neuro speciality

User :
it is like that
User :
Brain is the king of the body
User :
and if it is affected
User :
it is normal for all the parts to be disturbed
User :   Apparently I need a new king.. Mine is not working so well
User :   Ok, that is not possible yet

User :   I feel as though I am loosing my mind sometimes.. Like people think it is all in my head
User :
Brain transplantation, I mean to say
User :   such problems affect the mind

User :
Brain is different from mind
User :   yes that is for sure
User :
I shall give you the link
User :
which would be very useful for you
User :   ok
User :   WWW.WWWW.WW
User :   thank you
User :   Have a look at it

User :   I will
User :
and proceed if there is any doubts regarding the same
User :   Can I ask you...
User :   You said that you were surprised that the CT was normal?
User :   Why is that?
User :   What would you expect to see?
User :   not surprised as such

User :
CT would have shown
User :   if there is some growth in the brain
User :
but in MS it is not the case
User :   Well that is some good news then!
User :   either way, whatever it is I have, I am not going to let it take me down.. I am only 30 years old.. I have a beautiful family to look after and a lot of living left to do!
User :   Sure, you can get the full help

User :
should not worry
User :
Take the best out of what is available
User :   It is easier to deal with the known then the unknown
User :   If someone could diagnose this, I can fight it head on..
User :   But how do you fight something if you don't know what you are fighting!
User :   Sure, that is the reason I suggested you to go for a Neurologist

User :
rather than me giving a generalised answer
User :   I agree..
User :   Hopefully I can get in soon!
User :   before more symptoms appear
User :   Yes, I do hope for the same

User :   If I do have MS and I get diagnosed and on the proper medication, will my body heal any lesions that are present?
User :
and wish you could get it diagnosed and treated for the same
User :   No need of such hypothetical situations right now

User :
Should not think of it
User :
as it leads to more pressure on you
User :   this is true
User :   So you should think less regarding the diagnoses atleast

User :   so with this pain in my legs.. do you have any suggestions on how to deal with it?
User :
once that is done, you can have your search for the therapeutics
User :   The feeling as though knives are being run through my veins
User :   Pain in legs along with parasthesia

User :
and also vision changes
User :   yes..
User :
does go in favour of neuro
User :
so nothing specific to legs as such
User :
ofcourse symptomatic treatment would be given
User :   the parastesia is in the arms as well
User :   Ok

User :   I tried heat on my legs yesterday
User :   that was a bad idea
User :
In case of MS, you will need other supportive treatments like
User :
Physical therapy, occupational therapy
User :
Not a bad idea
User :
Why do you say so?
User :   because it got way worse
User :   Ok

User :
for pain, you should always alternate with heat and cold
User :
that is more helpful
User :   the pain feels like it is in the veins
User :   Extreme heat may cause extreme muscle weakness.

User :   I recently had a phlebitis flair
User :   Ok
User :
Varicosity?
User :   I am not sure what you mean?
User :
Varicose veins
User :   none
User :
where in there would be stagnation of blood in the veins
User :
Why is the phlebitis then?
User :   I do have a protein S deficiency
User :   Ok

User :   do you know what that is? Surprisingly I have to explain it to most dr's
User :   Ok

User :
I do know about it
User :   it is quite rare I guess
User :   Protein S deficiency is a disorder associated with increased risk of venous thrombosis
User :   so everytime I have a flair with phlebitis, they have to rule out a dvt
User :   Yes, it is rare
User :
there are 3 types in it
User :
and it also runs in families
User :   the phlebitis seems to be affecting the superficial venous system
User :   yes, my mom has a history of blood clots, as well as several aunts and uncles.
User :   Ok

User :   they checked me for it because I suffered from 7 pulminary embolisims when I was 22
User :   Thankfully I have not had a clot since
User :   that was very scary!
User :   Ok

User :
It is a rare thing, 1 in 1000
User :   the incidence of clots I mean to say

User :   yes
User :   but I am a survivor
User :   so far..
User :   Good, you are among the 999

User :
and I shall wish that you remain the same in this aspect
User :   I will
User :   I am too stubborn
User :   It does help at times!
User :   Yes, good

User :   Willpower is an amazing thing
User :
all traits have their pros and cons
User :
should build upon them accordingly
User :   I am sure my husband would fully agree with you on that one!
User :
which you say that you have done
User :
Ok, why what does he say?
User :   about the stubborness
User :   I am sure it can be quite frustrating for him. haha
User :   Ok

User :
Is there any thing else I can help you with?
User :   no, I think that is all..
User :   It is nice to be able to talk to someone without the time restraints you get in the dr's office
User :   even if it is just for some peace of mind
User :   Ok, our motto is achieved if you have had some use of it
User :   well I thank you for your time
User :   and I wish you a happy and heathly new year
User :   Thanks for consulting HealthcareMagic. Bye for now. Please refer your friends to our service.

User :   thank you
